Question about Vizio P4 46 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television

1 Answer

Brand new LG plasma has no picture and only static noise.

I opened my brand new LG plasma and there is no picture at all, not even when I try to go into the menu. There is a static noise coming from the speakers as well as the tv itself making a humming noise that I did not hear in the store.

Everything is connected correctly, just got off the phone with Comcast to make sure that was not the issue.
The tv is LG 42PG25 and neither a volume or menu notification will show up on the screen when I press the buttons on the remote. The volume will go up but there is nothing on the screen when I adjust the volume.

Hi , was watching my 42 inch VIORE Plasma TV last night, when I heard a click noise and the picture went immediately but the sound remained fine, I could switch channels but no picture, would you have any...

Check high voltage circuit. This is near where the 120 volt cord is plugged in and a high voltage transformer, where there should be capacitor (or two). Check the voltage - should be 390 to 400 volts. If not less than 390, near to replace the capacitor.

Brand new LG plasma stuck on test screens

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Hope it may help you;

47LG70 static like green pixelation

This is going to be either a voltage adjustment or a faulty control board and/or Y sustain board.

You need to have a qualified technician check the voltages on these boards to determine if they need to be adjusted or else (if the voltages are fine) these boards will need to be replaced.

50" LG Plasma TV has no picture just scattered pixels across the screen

This sounds like an issue that would be covered under the manufacturer warranty. please get a hold of the manufacturer for service. Thsi particular model has a 2 year, parts and labor, limited warranty. This might save you some money. Here is the website for LG service:
When you call, you should have your serial number and model number ready.
Hope this was helpful

Most likely it's the PDP panel failure. It may cost you more to repair then to buy a new one.
