Our flashlight stop working even with a brand new battery

The bulb may be blown. If the bulb is ok then you may have a broken wire, corroded connections or a bad switch.

How to fix the switch on eveready lantern flashlight

The switch in the lantern is a press fit switch so you will destroy it when you remove it. Remove the lense and retainer ring. Remove the battery. With a pair of pliers, preferably channel lock water pump pliers crush the switch into small piece and discard. Trail Tech makes the exact water resistant switch model 040-ls-b and you can get it at Amazon or on eBay . The switch runs around $6.25 + $4.00 shipping

Check that the contacts where the springs on the battery make contact in the light to see if they are corroded. If so scrape or sand them off.

I have an Eveready fluorescent lantern #9209. I can't figure out how to put the batteries in. I get the back compartment opened but am completely flummoxed after that. Does anyone have the instructions?...

On the bottom is an indention where the lamp attachs to the handle portion. The latch opens when you push the button toward the front of the lamp. Once it is opened, then slide the lamp off, revealing the battery compartment - remove the batteries and replace with new ones

How do i open eveready dolphin torch for battery

You need to twist the black bulb end off in the direction of the arrow labeled open. The best way I found was to place the yellow end between my legs to hold it in place.

Eveready 6volt plastic flashlights do not work more than once.

Here in the UK I have never had much luck with flashlights (or torches as we call them!) stored in the car-exactly the same problem as you -the battery is always flat when you come to use it. I have even tried slackening the base off to break the contacts-makes no difference. Best to get a rechargeable one like this
Only downside is you can't leave this model on charge so if you can try to find one with a regulated power supply which can be left permanently on charge without damaging the batteries. Avoid the million candlepower ones too-yes they are very bright but only last 15 minutes on a charge!
