I have a Health O Meter HDM560. I need to reset the #1 and #2 users and start over, can you help me there is nothing in the manual about it I can find.

Current Instruction Manual for the HDM560 can be found here:

http://www.healthometer.com/Manuals/MANUALS/HDM560-05_43_41816518.PDF

For resetting it would be similar to the initial setting process. FOLLOW these steps:

Lift display cover. Push "SET" button at bottom of pad. User "1" and "2" will appear.
User "1" will start blinking. Press the "USER" button to choose user "1" or "2". Once selected, press "SET" button to lock in information.
Both "HEIGHT" and "AGE" will appear on the screen. The "HEIGHT" will start blinking. Press the "UP" or "DOWN" arrows to find the correct height.

After entering height, press the "AGE" button. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" arrows to enter correct age and press "SET".

Both "MALE" and "FEMALE" images will be displayed. Press the "GENDER" button until the correct MALE/FEMALE image blinks and then press "SET". This will lock in the information.
Your correct information including User, Height, Age, and Gender will be displayed. Now you are ready to calculate weight.

Tap your person "USER" number (1 or 2) in center of scale with your toe. Your personal profile will appear. Wait until "000" appears. Stand on scale so bare feet are positioned over silver pad surface. "000" will blink your weight for approximately 3 seconds. "BF" will flash and body fat percentage will appear. The scale will turn off automatically in a few seconds.

Describe your prodex error solution DJ165E Problem my age and height appear then its 00 i stand on the scale then it says 1 2 3 4 Err

You need to have bare feet as it is trying to measure fat/hydration/muscle ratios with a current. If you have socks on or anything there to impede the current from metal areas on the top of the scale and your feet it will error out. Hope this helps.

Change settings. model #2202/UM-016 I have lost the directions and can't figure out how to change my persona settings. In an attempt to change my age I changed my *** and can't change it back.

I searched into this site with the same problem, how to update/reprogram the UM 016.
I figured out how to do it, shame there\'s no mention of updating memory data in the Tanita literature.
Assuming scale has batteries and old settings.
Press \'set\' button instead of memory or guest. The \'1\' memory should appear and blink. If you want to reset the \'2\' memory, press up key until the \'2\' appears and blinks, then press \'set\' again.\'
When you press \'set\' while the memory location is blinking, you should be able to page through and change the age/height/sex settings for the scale memories. When you are done, the scale will eventually shut down, saving your new settings, which you access with the \'up\' button when you want to use the scale.

What does the Bone Mass number mean on my digital scale?

Hello,

I found this from another posting. Hope it helps.

FEMALES: age 20-29 normal= 6.2-7%
FEMALES: age 30-39 normal= 6-6.8%
FEMALES: age 40-49 normal= 5.6-6.4%
FEMALES: age 50-59 normal= 5.2-6%
FEMALES: age 60-69 normal= 4.9-5.7%
sorry no listings over age 69
My only thing now, is what it means if I am below the range.

Fat percentage question

Some body fat percentage levels are more culturally valued than others, and some are related to better health or improved athletic performance. Ideal percentages are also based on age categories as well. The recommended amount for women is 20-25% and for men is 8–14%. You can find a more detailed body fat percentage chart at your local dietitians and nutritionists, and on the internet.

Digital scale question

Digital scales purport to measure your body fat through a process called BIA, or bioelectrical impedance analysis. Essentially, it clocks the speed that electricity travels through you. The scale runs a low-level electric current through your body, using your feet as positive and negative electrodes. The current encounters different levels of impedance, or resistance, from fat versus muscle. The scale measures this impedance, and throws it together with other factors (age, sex, height) to come up with your BMI, or body mass index.

Body fat scale Question

Like all body fat tests, body fat scales don't actually measure your body fat percentage. They determine your body density. The examiner (or the scales) then uses a formula to calculate body fat percentage based on body density. These formulas just predict your body fat. Unfortunately there is no one formula that accurately predicts body fat for the whole population. Differences in age, gender, ethnicity, body size, and fitness level all have a significant affect on the results. Well, whether body fat scales measure your "true" body fat percentage or not doesn't matter! As long as they can accurately monitor changes in your body composition over time, that's all you need.
