Make sure that all the cables are hooked up to the monitor correctly and that the monitor is on. If you are using a vga cable (Blue) try switching to an hdmi(thin similar to USB) or a dvi (Close to vga but usually tan.) The problem could also be in your graphics card.

You don't need to rename any, run the exe file that is on the laptops web site and it will auto install. Make sure you have no anti virus programmes running!

Computer comes on no screen won't load windows how do you reset it

Before making any attempt to remove or replace any part inside the casing, ensure that the power is off.

Well, the first thing that might be causing this is your memory card (RAM). Try to remove it and place it in another memory slot on the motherboard.

To be sure if your motherboard is still in good working condition, remove the memory card and power on the PC.

You should hear continuous beep sounds.

If you hear this then your motherboard is fine.

If placing the memory card in another slot does not work then the problem lies with the memory card itself. You will need to replace it.

It could also be that some faulting PCI cards are causing this error.

Try to remove your PCI cards. Normally a faulting PCI modem causes this type of error. Remove it and then power on the pc.

The processor cannot be faulty but still if you want to check it, remove the CPU Cooler fan. Then turn on the PC.

Place your finger on the processor for 2 seconds. You should find the processor heating up. Then turn it off immediately. If this works then your processor is good.
Remember not to leave it ON for more than 5 secs.

I have an assignment from my lecturer, need me to described about how to troubleshoot the processor....can you help me??i have no experience in this topic...

This one is kind of difficult but a processor is a pretty obvious problem to identify, it is likely the processor if:
  1. The computer power comes on (fans and lights) but the screen is black (does not boot)
It's not the processor if :
  1. You turn on the computer and see a boot screen.
  2. The power does not come on at all (no fan movement/lights)
Hope this helps!

I have a DELL Latitude D510. Intermittenly the laptop suddenly looses power. The batteries are fully charged, and the power is plugged in. Most often it will not restart immediatelly after such a power...

It may be because of a virus causing your system turn off suddenly. If you are sure that your system is free from Virus, then it may be because of processor over heating. If the processor heat reaches maximum limit, it shuts off the system automatically to prevent physical damage like burning, etc,. So, check weather your lappy's vent fan is working properly or not and clean if there are any obstacles like dust which are causing your processor over heating. Get back to me if this doesn't help...
Thanks

My playstation 3 works for 20 min-1/2 an hour then freezes. No more warranty!

Sounds like heat induction. Chances are there's a buildup of heat at one of the core parts (i.e. the CPU, power supply rails, video processor) that's causing it to overheat and shut down. If it takes awhile for it to turn back on and stay on, then it's definately heat-related.

My computer screen goes black and has trouble rebooting.

Hi,..

If your screen goes black add no display, you need to open the mainboard and check the parts specially the processor, i think the processor overheat, that causes no screen become black, you need to remove and clean, after that you put it back, just put a thermal paste in the back of your processor, so that the heat is absorbed,

Good luck !!!

CPU Fan Doesn't Spin

First time that I had heard of a Sony Vaio VGC-LS1, so I had to go take a look. Pretty Cool!

I can only tell what I think from a tech standpoint of view on it's processor fan.

1.This computer is housed in a housing that incorporates the LCD screen also. It's set up just like a laptop, except the LCD screen is in the body. (Housing)

This means you not only have the heat of the processor when it's running, you also have the heat of the LCD screen.
Plus it's all packed into one tight 'box'.

Processors give off a lot of heat by themselves. If they aren't kept to a certain thermal limit, they will burn up. Literally! Like ON FIRE!

When a processor goes beyond that thermal limit, there is a built-in Fail Safe feature that turns the processor off.

In ANY computer I've seen, or worked on, the processor fan is constantly spinning. As the load for the processor increases, so does the heat given out by the processor, and the fan spins faster.

It is my contention that you have a bad processor fan. I would at least ask a tech in your area, and see if this is so.
If your computer is turning off on you while you are using it,
you have a bad processor fan.

Overheating toshiba laptop

Find out where the heat is comming from. If the heat is comming from the area around the processor, you can try to reinstall the processor.

http://www.irisvista.com/

This site can help you greatly. It will show you how to replace the processor on this page.

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a135/remove-mainboard-1.htm

This page shows about the model that I think you listed and how to take it apart.

The main thing to do first is identify the source of heat.
Once you identify the source, try taking it out and reinstalling it.
If that doesn't work, the only other thing you can do is replace the part.

Remember that some toshiba laptops tend to run hot anyway. I have hade two of them. The less powerful ran fairly cool but the more powerful is pretty warm. There is only so much that you can do besides cooling pads and using it in a cool environment. Make sure not to obstruct any vents as much as possible. If the processor is hot and you tried reinstalling it with no success, you can do some research and find another processor that is compatible with your computer that naturally runs cooler. This is all I can tell you. If none of this helps, there isn't anything you can do. Hope this helps.

I have the xbox 360 when i turn it on the background is black and white dots move around the screen

sounds like the the processor is over heating and its causing the system to shut down before it burned up the board. basicly your thermal paste between your processor and the heatsink isnt doing its job. there could be a crack on it might have just degraded over time.

this can cause the system to freeze or see things ont he screen. it needs to be repaired before more issues happen.

dont turn it on you might cause more damage

Acer aspire 5600 frozen for 10 seconds

Press control alt and delete together - this will give you some diagnostic screens on which you can see the processor activity. If the processor is occasionaly maxed out then this is why your laptop is freezing. From the processes running you may be able to identify which program is tying up the processor. It is quite likely that you have a virus or spyware which is causing this behaviour. Starting the laptop in safe mode [F8] will alow you to see if there is no problem then and remove any virus or spyware.
