Faucet Attachment Leaks

The faucet attachment leaks when connected to the faucet. The dishwasher is over 4 years old. I think I need to replace the faucet attachment? How do you do this? Do I need to replace the entire coupler assembly? How do you access the hose? Would this solve the problem of leaking. Thanks so much for your assistance.

A stripped garden hose attachment How do I fix a stripped Garden hose attachment?

If you have the correct size die you can rethread it. If not.
Turn off water remove old faucet and replace
turn on water and check for leaks.

Hope the helps Mike

Note: You may also take a razor knife
start at the top of the threads (near handle) and spin around and down to open the threads again. BE CAREFUL Then do this again with a small flathead to open them wider and slowly connect a known good hose end on and off several times

Leaking diverter valve

is it a kitchen faucet or a tub faucet? if it a kitchen faucet it will be a cartridge issue, if it is a tub faucet it could be as easy as a o-ring or a separate cartridge. in any case the cartridges are usually in the main part of the handle and you usually have to take apart the faucet. i know this may sound funny but make sure you turn off the water to the faucet, you would be surprised how many people try to fix this with water on.

Moen two-handle kitchen faucet, 1990's model installed new a few years ago, is leaking underneath at the center where the spray hose would connect. I didn't use the hose, though. The nut was tight. It...

The nuts used for capping off the sprayer attachment will bottom out and not seal. Unless there is tape or thread compound on the nut, it can spray a tiny jet up under the faucet when the faucet is activated. If there is clearly water leaking from above that, then the o ring for the spigot may be failing and need replacing. If this is the case, it will only leak when the faucet is activated. There is always the possibility of a crack in the casting of the faucet body; hope not:)

I cannot get the attachment on my appt. size

The hose fitting goes onto an adapter that screws on to your faucet. You have to have the piece on your faucet for it to work. As best I can recall, once both pieces are in place, you pull down on the locking collar on the hose, put it on the faucet and relaese.
Best regards, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution..thanx!

Hello raymun30,

What is the Make and model number of your portable dishwasher?
And how old is it?

If I have the number can look into the repair manual and at the diagrams and tell you what part you may need.
Find the complete model number. Waiting your response.
That connector attachment can be replaced!!!!!!

Faucet Attachment Leaks

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve

Main tub seal
Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

1. Lower rack
2. Spray arm
3. Spray arm support
4. Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.
