Hello Carol, Are these batteries new and name brand ? It sure sounds like low battery power, Those cheap batteries found in some stores do not have the energy to boot a camera even when new out of the package. The camera has a very high demand to start up. I own several cameras that will not turn on with brand new cheap batteries.
Best Regards, Russell

SOURCE: It won't turn on even with new batteries

It also may be corresponding with mechanical trouble of camera's optics(lens block jammed by the dirt\sand).

SOURCE: Kodak Z1285 Won't Turn On?

What a silly solution... and yet... it worked like a charm for me. So, here's what I think is going on. When this happened to me I think my batteries were weak. I think the stepper motor has just enough juice to extend the lens to a partial step. Then, stuck between the steps the camera can't boot because it can't move the lens. Tapping the camera jars the stepper to the next higher or next lower step and then the camera can boot up.

Took battery out of working camera 4 months ago. Put charged battery in recently, but camera would not turn on. Reset with button but no change.

Do you mean your Nikon D80 battery haven't bean used for 4 months and you store it with no power? If so you battery maybe has been't damaged. Over discharge is heavy damage for Li-ion batteries. And when you store it with no power and for a so long time... You need to store it at 40% charger and at a cool but no cold place. Cold and hot are the killers of Li-ion batteries

This may sound silly but have you tried a good fresh set of lithium batteries or rechargeables. If this does not rectify the problem repost

My c340 turns on and than right off. With new batterys, I get 4 pictures than it turns off.

you might be using Alchaline batteries. This kind is not strong enough to run the camera.

Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).

It dosent turn on

Here are the steps for the no power problem: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) In order to organise your repair or Trade up please Contact KODAK: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=14563&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=3490

It won't turn on even with new batteries. The camera hasn't seen much use, and has been sitting empty for several months

The problem you describe is frequently the result of dirty/corroded battery contacts in the camera. Try removing the batteries and cleaning the inside contacts with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. Remove any residue left from the cleaning, then replace the batteries. Hopefully all will be well.

If the cleaning doesn't work you might want to check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

I can't connect to my mac.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto.

My kodak c813 digital camera will not turn on

I bought this model several months ago and it was working great up until Christmas time.  For some reason it just stopped working.  I couldn't get it to turn on OR sometimes it would turn on after several attempts.  I kept changing the batteries and sometimes that would work, but it was more or less random successes.  I found this link on FixYa : http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/batteries/batteryDigCamChart.jhtml?camera=C813
I was using generic batteries (Philips) which I bought in bulk from a discount tech store and these batteries were working in the camera since I bought it.  The batteries were new; just generic.  By coincidence I ended up buying KODAK branded alkaline batteries from the same store.  I replaced the older generic ones with the KODAK batteries and the camera came back to life!  I'll leave it off for a day and see if it turns on tomorrow.
