Question about Whirlpool 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with In-Door-Ice Dispensing System
Bulb shattered, leaving pieces around rim. I tried the potato method, it just cut through the potato instead of grabbing it. I then broke off all the remaining pieces of glass, leaving just the rim. Potato still just turned without grabbing on. I then tried the next method of prying the base away enough to get needlenose pliers a grip. Piece of base came off with pliers. Tried on another spot but I cannot get the base to move in any direction ( I know it should go counter-clockwise to come out).
I had a similar problem with a kitchen bulb a few years ago. I had to put some epoxy in the socket, stuffed a rag in there, then bent the rims inside like a star with a needle nosed plier. I let it dry then it twisted right out. Hope this works for you!
