SOURCE: Canon FS200 won't fully initialize 32 GB SDHC card

I've fought with this and long story short here is how I finally got my 32GB card to work with my Canon FS200 camcorder.
Turn off camcorder Insert 32gb card Turn on camcorder Make sure you are on Photo Only Mode Initialize card (not full initialize) Turn off camcorder Remove card Re-insert card Turn on camcorder Switch to Photo Only Mode Take a picture Switch to Movie Mode and take video
Sounds crazy but I tried MANY other ways and this is what worked for me. Only thing I can think why this works is the file system is more basic on photo only mode and taking a picture lets the camera know the card is working - doesn't make sense, but I guess it doesn't matter as long as it works.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I put the memory card from my Canon FS200 video

Hi,
You definitely have anti-virus installed in your system (Computer), As a result system prompted for SCAN & fix due to possible virus or worms found in your device (Canon), At the moment you click that "Do you want scan & fix canon", the system have cleared/deleted the virus or worm infected file, In the result you are unable to find the video files again or If it is there it will not run. I would recommend you to formate your Memory Card and then use it. There is no way to recover that video again.
Hope this will help,

Thanks..!!

I have a Canon FS200 and a brand new SD 64 GB card. When I try to initialize the card, the camera says, Failed: Process Terminated with Error, but it doesn't tell me what the error is. Can you???

I cannot tell you what the error is, but perhaps I can give you some tips on how to solve the problem. First, try to read the SD card on your computer. Is it formatted? if not, format to FAT 32. Are there any file structures? If so, erase and format the SD card to FAT 32.

If these activities do not work, then try with another SD or SDHC card (type 10 if possible) and see if the error is replicated.

From there, recommend contacting Canon customer support for assistance.

Canon Legria HF200 SDHC Initialization problem

This totally sucks. I have a similar issue with my Canon Vixia HF R20 and I'm using a Lexar Pro 64Gb 133x SDXC card. When trying to initialize the card, its fails and says "Process terminated with error." It also says "check the memory card" when I first put it in. Write-protect is off. My other SanDisk class 4 SDHC card seems to work ok.
I could have sworn it worked before and I was able to transfer videos to my Mac on 10.6, but I can't remember for sure if I was using the SDXC card or just the built-in memory. Very frustrating.

Canon FS200 won't fully initialize 32 GB SDHC card

I heard about that quite a lot of time,in deed. But, I personally haven't load 16 or 32 GB memory card in Canon FS200. At the very begining, I was thinking of using 16 GB SDHC card instead of built in 8 GB memory. The shop assistance don't advice me to buy more than that 8GB because he also know that problem. So then, I am still using with 8GB untill now.
