To reset Linksys WRT54G. Press the Reset button (small rounded button , it will likely be gray or red and may be sunk inside the plastic casing of the router) with a pen or anything for 30 seconds , and after that then you unplug the power of your Linksys WRT54G and you keep holding down on the reset button for an additional 30 seconds, after that you plug it back in then you wait for another 30 seconds and then you're done.

On your wireless router it will have reset button.

There is a very small button on the back of your router get a pen and click on it and hold for 10 seconds and it will reset your router. Linksys IP number is
type this in the address bar at the very top of your computer screen then hit enter. A window will appear, in the password section type (admin) and it should let you in. If you can`t access it wireless connect a ethernet cable to one of the 1 - 4 ports and to your pc.

Here is a youtube video how you reset it:

Hope this will help you.

Router connection

The problem is not the antenna.
There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.

I need to reset my router's password. Can you help?

To reset your password you need to "reset" the router, either by pressing the Reset button on the router (probably on the back of it, with a pen as its a small button). Please note that sometimes you have to wait for like 15 secondes before it reset it! Also try at last solution, you need to press and leave that button pressed, unplugged completely from power, replug, still pressing...
Otherwise do you know you can access the "router config page" with typing like or or in your browser? (firefox, internet explorer...)
The thing is you seems to get confused, reseting the password will not help you preventing someone else using your connection via wireless..
to be secure you will need to:
-change the default login/password of your router config
-put encryption Wpa2 for the wifi
-put a proper complex passphrase (not like myteddy123, something hard and long like "z#~@'2g@rd3n!!"T3stPou.?".
-lower the broadcasting range settings if you don't it to emit the signals very far
-change the ip addressing of your network (ie change from by default probably to something hard like
-check regularly the logs if available in your router config page (

Changed from DSL, to cable no router connection

1. You need to make sure that you have a "straight through" cable and not a "crossover".
2. the yellow cable that your cable company provided is the cable that goes from the rj45 wall connector to the "WLAN" connector in the back of the router.
If you go to router manufacturers site you will find the instruction how to to connect your router to the cable modem.
3. check also the firmware updates for your router at this site and download.
4.Use your setup disk and follow the instruction set for cable also. This should walk you through the proper setup .
YOu didn't provide the model number of your router, I would have given you the setup site for your particular router.
You can go to D-Link's site and download the PDF instruction also.

For that you need to reset your router to factory defaults.
Then reconfigure fix this problem.
First RESET your router to defaults.
for that press RESET button for 10 seconds RESET button is in back side of router.
Then connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Set WAN settings as your internet service provider settings.
Enable DHCP .
Click on wireless and enable wi fi.
If you want secure router then enable WEP security then add new code it is your password key for connect wi fi.
Also change channel type in wireless option 4,6 and 11 channel are best.
Try 1 by 1 then save settings and restart router.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

My mail system does not provide a lan signal the

you don't receive a signal for LAN. If you are wanting to use a wireless router with a normal PC tower you have to have a wireless card installed and activated. IF it is installed then look at your instructions on activating the device. if you do not have a wireless card in your tower then you will have to purchase one or run a cable to the back of your router to your tower ( I use a T6 cable)

I have a P-320W and two lap tops. I was trying to instal a wieless printer and inadvertantly deleted Network security key. I have trie all of my known passwords but none of them work. HELP!

If you have deleted the key in the computer, you need to log onto the web interface of the router and change the key there. Else, you can reset the router andbring it back to factory defaults. Once that it done, you can install the router from start.
Thanks Ranjit

Can no longer pick up router signal

Does the wireless light still lit on the router? You can try changing the channel on the router (1 6 or 11) ans moving the antenna. If those things did not work upgrade the firmware of the router and reset to factory default. Do not forget to save the configuration file before you reset to factory default.
