Yes, but check the breaker first. turn off/on to check. Remove the screws at the lint filter. remove fint filter. Use a thin putty knife at thr front between the top and door support to depress the spring clips holding the lid down, one at a time pull each side to disengage clip. Lift lid. The door switch is above the door inside under the lid. ALWAYS UNPLUG BEFORE WORKING ON ELECTRIC APPLIANCES.

SOURCE: I need to replace a door switch on a Kenmore Dryer

I'm not too familiar with the model but you either have screws that are just above the door (open the door first) or two metal tabs in the front that hold the top on the dryer. The two metal tabs can be seen if you take a flashlight and look where the top meets the front about 8" from each side roughly. A flatblade screwdriver inserted at the top of these fasteners will release them from the top. Next have a 5/16 nut driver to remove the two screws on each side holding the front onto the sides. There may be screws at the bottom as well. You may not have to remove the front at all. Also HAVE THE POWER DISCONNECTED! Don't want ya to get fried. Remove the leads from the door switch on the right and remove.

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.Check online for the part repairclinic.com has it for $14.00 not bad

SOURCE: Kenmore dryer...65852 timer switch does not work.

Good day,
Ma'm I don't know your mechanical background. So you'll have to be your own judge
One cause could be the contacts in the push to start switch welded together.
Even though it might appear to go in and out properly, the insides of the switch are bad.

Remove the back cover of the consule. Remove one of the wires connected to the push to start switch, and tape up end to prevent shorting.
Plug machine back in and test. If it won't start, then the push to start switch is bad, and needs replaced.

If the push to start switch is not the problem, then it would be the centrifugal switch in the main motor itself. Here is a tutorial on accessing the motor. A major job, with some complications involving the blower wheel.

P.S. If the dryer performs normally other then the starting problem, there is no reason you cannot use it indefinately
There was a time when dryers had no push to start function.
Proceedure was, with the timer off, and door open, load cloths, set timer, close door. Works great.

Dryer won't start due to delay button lights up and won't go off

1. No power to the dryerMake sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

4. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Signal

Kenmore 70 series. Model/Stock 66702692 Serial MG2402832

Cycle Signal works but then won't shut off until I open up the dryer door - it just keeps buzzing for hours. Also the dryer will turn on if I close the door ( and arrow is within a number and not on off) without pressing the start button. So if door is closed - the dryer will run or buzz (depending on arrow). How do I fix this?

Thank you

cutiepie, I've seen this many times on these dryers. You need to replace the door hinge. Not really a hard job to do. Post a model number (inside door) and we'll get you a part number...Catriver..post back.
