Ok here is what our problem is. We have a Kenmore Elite model number 106.50599000, side by side. It is approximately 9 years old. To date we have replaced the fridge thermostat (2x), the air diffuser in the back - currently wide open so it is working, the fan that cools the compressor. I think that is it. The freezer is currently at minus 10 degrees, cranked all the way up. The fridge is cranked all the way up but it is only sitting at 50 degrees. The fan that blows across the coils for the cooling doesn't seem to run, but only when the compressor is running. If we remember it used to run when the fridge needed more cool air. Does the fan maybe have 2 settings? We had Sears out once and they asked us if we had problems with the board. Not sure what board they are talking about and what it would control. When we purchased the thermostat the guy told us that there isn't too much to go in these fridges. I'm not afraid of turning it off and tearing it apart to put a part in, but not sure what I am looking for. Any suggestions would be great!!

Sounds like you're low on gas...assuming that the condenser coils are clean.
SOURCE: fan runs freezer and fridge don't cool
Please check the model number again, I can't locate that number. The number should be like for example 194.258978
Look at following areas for the model number

Hi,
As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...
