It may be result of installing incompatible software or hardware. if you installed a hardware recently remove it. for incompatible software go to windows safe mode and restore your OS.

How do I get past the blue screen? Computer has been stuck on this for weeks. It has been rebooted, restarted, unplugged, still doesn't get past blue screen.

First unplug your machine and plug it back in and turn it on while its booting up you should see a message to press the F2 key to enter the BIOS. press that key, you will only have a couple of seconds to press it. Look for an option called First Boot Device, Boot Sequence, or something similar; press the arrow keys on your keyboard to select this field and then press Enter (You may have to select Advanced Options or another submenu to find it.) In the resulting screen, select CDROM/DVD and then press the Esc key until you return to the main BIOS screen. Follow the onscreen instructions to save your new settings and exit BIOS setup. Insert the installation disc (you need an installation disc of the operating system, if you dont have one you can find one on amazon, but if you needed to buy one you should consider upgrading to windows 7(more like vista) or Windows 8 (not really like vista)) once the disc is inserted restart the computer and follow the on-screen instructions

CANNOT GET PAST BLUE SCREEN

Have you tried to cold start the machine, remove all media, CDs, DVDs, USBs, etc., unplug, remove battery, plug in , Try to boot normally. If that fails, unplug, plug in, reboot and try your F key to Boot menu or system restore/recovery. Does the HDD spin-up? Led blink? DVD/CD rom drive led blink? Do you have a repair disk? Does your laptop have a few miles on it? Could be a bad HDD? Remove and test, replace if necessary. Try to reseat the HDD and the memory mods First.

The computer is on, but the screen is all blue

A Mac that shows you a blank blue screen instead of logging you in may be afflicted by a malfunctioning startup item. Most people have a number of programs that start up whenever you log into your computer, and it's likely that one of these programs is causing issues. The startup item is unable to load, and so it causes the rest of the computer to hang.
In order to get your Mac past this hanging blue screen, you need to boot into safe mode and figure out which startup item is causing problems. The Apple Support article "I see a blank blue screen when I try to start up my computer" tells you exactly how to go about this procedure. Basically, you must remove all your startup items and add them back in one-by-one, rebooting each time until you find the one that causes the hanging blue screen.
