My lg790 gps won't move past the start-up screen

Sounds like you got a bad update, you might be able to download an update from magellan, and put it on your sd card then load it that way to finish the update.

Reinstall windows, or Factory reset...

It's time to buy a new touch screen gps.

I had this issue in the past. All I did was to replace the brake switch. This part is located behind the brake pedal. Btw, if you this run into this issue again in the future, you can always push this switch with your finger and it's located on top of your steering wheel enclosure, this will disengage the shifter.there is a small rectangle shape cover that you need to remove first.

I have the exact same problem and am seeking a solution too ... it won't boot past the Vizio logo on the screen and the remote and side buttons won't work :(

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

1. Back up your Favorites.
2. Perform a Hard Reset.
3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

You have installed a NavTones GPS voice that is encrypted to a different device code (serial number).

1. connect TomTom to PC
2. navigate to 'voices' folder
3. Delete any recently installed voices
4. Disconnect and restart
   

erase password or reset Tomtom GPS

The manual is all on disk. I have this model and attached the remote with little problems. One caution is to make sure the screws are in tightly as they are very short.
