The one response posted did not address the problem. Kenmore Elite Dishwasher, Model 665.15912, buzzes during operation. The timing of the buzz indicates relay K1 may be at fault. What panel(s) need to be removed to access this relay?

There is no food grinding motor in a dishwasher. That is a pump motor and its not made for grinding food, spoons, or toothpicks. Your dishwasher has a strainer to help prevent this kind of stuff from being drawn into the pump. Your household dishwasher probobly just has a plastic impellar that a spoon will shred to peices. Even commercial diswashers that have cast iron impellars can be stopped dead in their tracks by a smal spoon, normally bending the shaft of the motor.

Your pump motor is probobly stopped up with garbage and if you continue to run it without cleaning the impeller out, you risk damage to the pump, motor, and the impellar.

You will need to remove the pump and clean it out throughly. It may be to late for that pump, it may already be damaged and need to be replaced. If it has been removed, you will need to reinstall the strainer on the pump to prevent this kind of stuff from happening in the future. Also, if the impellar looks chewed up, replace it.

Also, contrary to the old commercial of the housewife putting a whole cake in a dishwasher to clean the cake plate it sits on, I will tell you that this is not good for ANY dishwasher. Always clean the scraps off of the dishes before loading them in the dishwasher.

To my knowledge, the relays of this model are located on the controlboard (Electronic Control Assembly).

Replacement Control Boards are available from here.

It sounds like you have a shorted cook relay on your control circuit board.

That can usually be repaired more economically than replacing the circuit board.

The top tray is not cleaning

Your input panel needs to be serviced. Please try to change the AC outlet location first before attempting the service yourself. If your still experiencing problems, then remove the front panel to locate the the soldered joints behind the power button. There is a relay which may be worn and can be changed by you. You may find the area covered in rust and oxidized. If this is the case, then we have found the root cause behind your problem and will need to change out the bad part. Kenmore elite front load dryer made by lg just set up and when started it emits a steady loud buzzing sound ; not a rattle but electrical

Hi!!
The buzzing sound is the motor trying to kick in, the starting capacitor is not giving it the bust it need to take off. Just replace the motor's starting capacitor/power relay. Go to the following site, enter your Dryer's Model # to order it. http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Power-Relay/528722
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Our 4 year old Asko D3121 dishwasher has stopped heating the water and drying off the dishes..is the problem as simple as replacing the heater element ??? If so ,how difficult is it ?

I would check the voltages around the heater before replacing it. Sometimes the thermal overload relay opens out and shuts off the power. Could be a more simpler to replace than the whole heater.

Access to the door relay of Kenmore Elite?

If you are attempting to replace or troubleshoot the door latch mechanism, the following link explains how to access and/or replace:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575840-replacing_a_door_latch

The easiest method is to go through the door bellow. You can attempt to reach the latch by removing the top panel of the washer and working from the top, but it can be difficult to reach for some people. If you have quesitons, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

E1 comes on during mid cycle and stops the dryer from drying

replace the compressor "compressor relay and the compressor overload" that are on the side of the compressor.
location: should be in the back on the bottom behind the panel.
if you have a circuit board they may need to be replaced as well.

Replacing a relay switch on a Kenmore Side by Side

The start run relay kicks the compressor on. If your compressor is running this is not your problem.
There are a number of things that can cause a fridge not to cool. A bad defrost system.. Check to see if you have ice build up in the freezer, or a lot of frost. Also a bad compressor. The relay switch sits on the compressor at the back of the fridge. If you put a new relay on and it won't start the compressor you have a bad compressor. Most compressors are warrantied through the manufacturer for at least 5 years. So if it's that call the manufacturer for replacement.

Refrigerator/freezer is no longer cold

depending on how old this unit is, it may just need 24 hours to get cold again after it can breathe again. you need to keep the coil clean at least once a year.
if it doesnt start cooling by itself after cleaning, then you might have a burnt out comrpessor relay. it happens alot after the coils are plugged. if it makes a buzzing noise then a click, you have a bad relay. it is easy to replace by taking off the rear lower panel and removing the relay from the compressor and getting a new relay kit.

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher Problem

I had this same problem so I took the front panel off to access the thermal fuse.  What I found instead was that food had become lodged in the door latch which was keeping the door safety switch from operating properly.  I took a thin screwdriver and removed the food from the cavity.  Since you did not have the problem in your first five years the cavity just might be the problem since that is about the amount of time it took me to get too much food stuck in mine as well. This solution took five seconds and requires no disassembly.
