How do I turn off Netgear WNA 1100 beeping noise?

So I have the netgear wna1100 wireless card, it works fine. But, it wont stop beeping, the sound is coming out through my speakers. It's more like a "dingdong" sound. I can't find a way to turn it off. Someone I knew looked it up and found out how to do it and he did it, but that was a while back. The reason it started again was because i disconnected the usb drive.

SOURCE: netgear wireless adapter disconnects from router randomly

check for firmware update for your adapter...since it usb..u need to put it in open..i believed the USB extension is included when u purchased that.

do not connect the USB adapter to a USB hub unless the HUB is powered so that it can performed better. Connect it directly to your PC slot

SOURCE: Netgear wireless router: WNA3400 Netgear wireless

It seems that your network is getting wireless interference and that is the reason why the adapter is dropping the connection to a lower speed. Please go ahead and change the wireless channel on the wireless router to resolve the issue.

Please revert for any further clarification.

Install wna 1100

Try the following:
- Uninstall the linksys adapter driver on your PC
- Uninstall the netgear driver, and go to and get the latest driver.
- Try to insert the adapter into a different USB port. (try them all)
- Update your XP if you are still using SP1.

You must use the driver on the CD that came with the wna1100.
Do not use the latest version on the website.

If you dont have any CD then here is a link for old version software:

Hope it works for you. Dont forget to press Helpful if it works for you.
