Deleting and putting new music on it

When I go into the file and look at what is on the MP3 player, it shows nothing in the file, however if I try and add music to it it says that there is not enough space on the device to add the music desired and then I ttry to delete what seems to be on there..... and I get a message that says "can not delete, the device has stopped responding or has been disconnected." however it shows on the screen on the player that it is ready and working and the computer shows the image of the program running.... god this is confusing isn't it??? Please Help :( Kris

Re: Deleting and putting new music on it

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

My sansa e260 wont show the songs i just added from my comp

On your player, try going to Settings, USB Mode, and switch it to MSC if you didn't. Now plug your player in and go to "My computer", and open up your player. It is now used as a storage device, but you can still edit the music section (including the video section). Now try deleting all the music inside and create a new folder for your music. Now drag all your music files inside the folder you just made (this will not affect your album, genre, etc categories). After that, unplug your device and try the music files to see if they work. If they still don't work, I suggest you just format (reset) your player. To do that, simply plug your device on your computer. Then go to "My Computer" and when you see the device there, right click it and click on "Format...". Before that, if you don't want to loose any of your files (music, video, etc), I suggest you store them in your PC and put them back in your player after the reset.

Need help deleting songs from my Sony MP3 player

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

I cant even delete my music or put new music on...

Instead of deleting the songs you may need to format.

If you haven't tryed this follow these simple steps.

To format your device first click on "Start" then click on "My Computer" now look for your mp3 player, if it hasn't been change the names usually called "Removable Disk", once you've found that right-click on it then click on "Format".

Now you've formatted put songs on then try your mp3 player to see if the problems be fixed.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.

Deleting music

It shouldn't make any difference.  The device should show up as any other attached storage device and you should be able to delete files or drag files to it as you would to a flash drive.

Deleting music files

you should be able to explore your mp3 player in my computer, and explore each folder but when the windows are open click at the top files, options, view and select show hidden files as the mp3 songs already on the player may be hidden.
