If you cannot find the backup disks an option that you can do is system restore although it really depends on how long your last restore point is.
Go to start then run then type in MSCONFIG
after that click on Launch System Restore
Restore it to the oldest date. Luckily it will have the system checkpoint at the first time you used it.

Used to have this problem often in different networks. Take the hard drive out of the computer you purchased it in. Install it to one that you have admin rights to. The rights you have to the hardware in that machine will cascade to the hd you are having the problems with. Failing that you can download the Linux utility Knoppix. This would allow you to access the hard drive and do what you need to do.

After using Darik's boot and nuke (DBAN) your hard drive will be wiped clean with little chance of recovery. This also depends on how many passes you used for the disk wipe. More passes = less chance of recovery.
Restore from backup
You can restore backups previously created (as stated in the Create backup
section) from hard disk, CD or DVD.
1 Boot to Windows XP.

Tips for a great answer:

The Aspire One is a netbook produced by
Acer; it does not come equipped with a CD ROM drive, so a traditional
hard drive reformat and Windows reinstallation is not possible without a
peripheral storage device. An external USB CD or flash drive will suffice, however.Difficulty:Moderate
