SOURCE: wet/dry Panasonic shaver stopped

503d300.jpg
My model is almost the same as your model ...

Problem: Model ES7037CMB - Over the past month the Panasonic shaver would turn on with 3-4 tries, but now will not turn on at all – the on-off switch must be bad after only 7 months of wet use. Before sending in I found this diagram:

Disassembly: Remove bottom Phillips screw & end cap, pop off each plastic side with fingernails (reinstall them from top 1st), remove 4 screws, remove 2 clips, take top off. Remove battery case and the on-off little, white plastic lever fell out. Slide off the white plastic/metal on-off slider & clean contacts with knife … my bottom contact was black & top was clean.

Assembly: Reinstall on-off slider (white plastic with metal contacts) by sliding back in grooves -- hardest part - place the on-off plastic lever on the battery back unit – I tried to put it on the case and could not get it to stay on. Slide the battery pack back in with the plug prongs in the holes in the end being careful not to drop the on-off lever. Test shaver. Stuff battery wires inside case – screw 4 screws and add 2 clips on, then final screw in the end after cap placed on. Easy once I knew how to put the on-off lever on the battery side – that was tricky. Total time was about 1 hour – next time it will be about 15 minutes. Works great! jgg 12-27-08. Think I will use it dry from now own since it had a lot of whiskers inside of it and maybe wash only the head as needed with baby shampoo.

SOURCE: shaver will not hold a charge, panasonic es8003

Sounds like the switch is dirty and not lettingit run ... look at this video on how to clean the switch ... mine would not charge or run until I cleaned the on-off switch.

SOURCE: have Panasonic ES8093 shaver.charge indicator

this problem is usually from old batteries. batteries will typically lose much of their ability to hold a charge after 3-6 years and they will need to be replaced.
if you use your shaver wet or rinse it under water, I dont suggest that you repair it as you will not likely get it sealed back up well enough to prevent it from leaking.
Panasonic does allow the sale of their specialized shaver batteries to consumers. Therefore, you will need to use a compatible battery type. shaveroutlet.com sells a set here:

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-battery-nimh-2-batteries-p-105.html

These are made for Braun shavers but will work because they have prongs on the ends to snap in place like your originals

SOURCE: Battery in Panasonic ES8183 wet and dry shaver

Hello,

A 12 months old wet and dry shaver must have a defective battery after such long period of use.

The battery cell is weak and unable to hold charge.

You sure need a battery replacement. It's not necessary you get a Panasonic battery replacement as long as its the same size, shape and watt. You can get another battery from any electronics accessories store within your vicinity.

All you need do is disassemble the shaver, remove the old battery, use it as a sample for the replacement so that you can get the same battery size, shape etc..

To disassemble the shaver, first, take the shaver outside and use a can of air to clean the shaver. Repeat this at various stages of the dis-assembly, being careful not to lose any parts!

Remove the two screws at the bottom (the end that plugs in to the charger) of the shaver, and remove the bottom cover. Keep track of the two small washers, and a small flat plastic piece, about 10mm square that fits inside of the cover - these keep the unit waterproof.
Open the shaver head, and remove the blade assembly from the white plastic vibrating arm by pulling on it - it will pop off. Undo the two screws on either side of the arm, keeping track of the two small washers under the plate - these will tend to stay in place and stick to the metal plate or the plastic underneath the plate.
Press on the mechanism from the end you first opened, and notice a gap opening up where at the other end, just below the head latch button and hinge. Gently pry open this crack, and work the case apart. Keep the large O-ring that seals the case, and make a note of its orientation so that you can assemble it the same way.
This has been too easy, I know, so there is one headache. I have not figured out how to remove the sliding trimmer assembly. Because of this, I found it was necessary to pry the large black U-shaped plastic clamp from the vibrating arm at the same time you pull the innards out of the case
By now you should have access to the battery, and proceed for the battery replacement.

I hope you understand the above.

Good luck.

Need a new foil for model 5479 Braun electric shaver

This particular Braun shaver was made in both a US and European version. They are similar, but take slightly different cutter blocks and foil screens, sooooooo

If you bought your shaver in the US, then you can get a replacement foil here for around $8.00 or you can find another supplier of your choosing.

http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=4997848

If you bought your shaver in the UK, then a replacement is available on Amazon.com (UK site) for quite a bit more in British pounds.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
