Tried your suggestion three time. Did not correct. I am at wits end as I rely on my PDA daily.

As do I. You have an e2, correct?

  • sherilyn_con Jan 05, 2009

Yes, I have an e2. Surgery? Expensive? Or just buy a cell phone w/PDA?? The e2 I have is my second in three years - should that tell me something? Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks, S

You have an e2, correct? I had one too. Are you prepared for surgery on it?

Two e2's in 2 years. Does that tell YOU anything! E2's are good till they mess up. I enjoyed what the device could do but turned out more hastle than it was worth. What cell/pda you looking at. I have a preference should you be interested. As far as surgery, take the star screwdriver take the back off. Pull the battery. Leave it out for 30 minutes. Reinstall and check. Might work. If it don't....abort. Let me know what you do. I'm not just a tech, I'm your buddy!

Dell Axim X50 PDA won't turn on

try a hard reset

Dell Axim x50 / x50v / x51 / x51v:

Make sure the device is on before performing hard reset. To hard reset, press and hold the power button and press in on the reset button (reset hole) on the back of the unit for about 2-3 seconds. Release both buttons and you will see a confirmation screen asking you if you would like to clear all data in memory. To do so press the Contacts button. To cancel press the Mail button.

IT may be that the mainboard is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Battery won't charge after being replaced

The charger might be bad. Or then the pdas connector is bad, or the motherboard is damaged.

to find out is your charger working you could use a tester to test it or another pda.

If you could get some power into the pda you could use the bootloader to test the device. Its been years since I had my 3850.

Il have to find instructions on how to get to the bootloader but test the other things first.

Drop a comment.

Non-Responsive PDA

You may have to do a hard reset. You hold one finger at the power and the other hand hold your stylus and his reset. This technique is applied to most PDA.

The Screen is back and it won't charge

Hello, it isn't that simple as a broken charger. Try the following thing. Connect battery to the PDA, check that the battery LID is connected FIRMLY to the body (there is a contact there that woun't allow the PDA to start if the lid isn't connected properly, you may want to check it too, look carefully for a small black thing and check that it can be pressed). Then connect the pda for half hour to the charger, even if no light or amber led is flashing. Then make a master reset as showed here and connect the PDA to a usb sync cable with your computer. Press simultaneous the soft reset and the power button, then press only the soft reset button. The PDA should start. If not, there is a problem with a DC converter component on the mainboard or the connector I was talking about before. Even if the charger is broken, your PDA should power on from USB cable. Good luck, feel free to ask further questions and always remember to rate replies received from this site :)
