17" Sony Monitor Goes Black and No Light Shows On The Switch

Random occurance in this case. The screen goes black and the on/off switch goes off. To fix I basically click the on/off switch and the screen lights back up. This can happen several times in a row and will stay on for a fairly long period of time before it does it again. I have checked all the connections and they are all tight.
