SOURCE: has it got wireless function

I have one of these.
There's an on/off switch on the right hand edge of the laptop, with an orange light, between the dvd and the floppy drive.
The wireless card itself is a mini-PCI affair which can be fitted under one of the smaller panels underneath (you'll have to unscrew the cover, but it just slots in). There's a yellow label about interference on the panel.
As far as I know, you can only get "wireless b", or IEE 802.11b standard mini-PCI cards for this laptop. I say "only" because I wasn't able to get a connection on mine unless I stood with the laptop in view of the base station, and it's very slow compared to "wireless g" (802.11g).
Good luck.
I'd really like to know how to boot up my toshiba with the recovery dvd, by the way.
I think my drive might be physically broken.. I've set it to boot from dvd first, but when i put a blank formatted hard drive in it, it still says NTLDR is missing press ctrl+alt+del whether i put the cd in or not. Also, the dvd light is on all the time, but it flashes when its thinking about reading the cd.
any ideas ? please write to chinchilla_g03@yahoo.co.uk
thank youuu

SOURCE: my name is eghan and i am using toshiba satellite

You need to redownload the drivers for your web cam. Go to this link: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2761023&rpn=PSC16U&modelFilter=C650D-ST2N02&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663

When you get there,Then scroll down and select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down and select page 2. Then scroll down until you see the camera driver software and then download and reinstall it. Hopefully this will help...good luck.

SOURCE: HOW TO RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULT

Hello,

If my answer has helped you today please offer four thumbs up as thanks!

Take account of any files or programs you still want to use after the Toshiba laptop is restored back to its factory settings. Transfer the files to a backup location, such as a USB flash drive or external hard drive.

Restart the Toshiba Satellite laptop's operating system. Wait for the Toshiba logo to appear on the screen.

Press the key that brings up the hard drive disk utility menu. Depending on the specific model of your Toshiba Satellite laptop, the key will either be "0," "F1," or "F8."

Press "1" or click "Restore Original Factory Image." Click "Yes." Select "Next" to begin the restoration process.

Restart the Toshiba laptop computer when the restoration process finishes running. Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to set up the laptop's date, time and language settings.

Transfer the backup copies of the data you saved earlier back to the Toshiba's hard drive. Re-install any programs you need, such as your software firewall or anti-virus tool.

If my answer has helped you today please offer four thumbs up as thanks!

Using device manager uninstall, reboot and reinstall the wi fi chip. If this does not work you are in deep doo doo because the chip is fubar. I had the same issue with a Toshiba laptop but I returned it since it was a few days old. The chip is soldered to mo bo and unless you have real special tools and skills it cannot be removed.

Having trouble activing the wireless application

There should be a switch on the front of the laptop, on the edge. It should be a switch that is two-directional. There will be some pictures, one with a computer, and one with a computer with some waves coming out from it. Switch the switch to the side of the computer with the waves, and you will activate wireless internet. Follow the on-screen directions and you will receive the internet.

If this does not work, contact your internet supplier or find an internet supplier.

The L500D seems a bit tricky about its WiFi. You will find several people with a similar problem - some of them succeeded in fixing it, but it depends on your particular OS and setup:

Try the properties of your Network controller. And go to your Internet Protocol Version 4 and 6 properties. Sometimes you have to change from Auto Obtain to manual and back again to get the IP addresses to correct themselves. Hope this helps.

No internet

Hi! Saft question but is the wireless connection switched on? on My Satellite there is a little switch at the front near the clasp the keeps the lid locked, turn it to the right and a little Amber light comes on.
If you are wirelessly connected and using Windows try hovering over the internet connction bars down to the right on your taskbar it should say wireless connections available click on to connect, also if using a secure network you'll need to input the security code for your p.c. to communicate. This should sort it!
Good Luck and a Very Happy New Year to you and your Family!
