Question about Avanti Exercise & Fitness

1 Answer

Hi i have an avanti 928 treadmill that starts then shuts down, and will not restart for sometime,it runs fpr 10-20 seconds, sometimes 5-10 minutes

Can you also tell me what is the small box with a single earth wire connected to it ,and a brush in contact with the front drive roller? is this just for elec. safety? the motor has no smell, doesnt get hot and turns well although slightly noisier than when it was new(hasnt done a great deal of work) and can you please confirm it is an ac motor,a tech. informed me that is a dc motor?

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: los angeles 2 treadmill starts

It sounds like it's the speed sensor that is faulty. It's fitted to the frame pointing at the front roller drive wheel (the one with the rubber belt from the motor). This may sound strange but it sometimes works. Remove the sensor from the clip near the pulley wheel. Unclip the wire around the edge of the frame and hold the wire about 4-5 inch from the sensor tube and give the sensor tube a crack on a wooded surface, not to hard but enough to shock the sensor into working. Do this only once and re-fit the sensor and try the treadmill. If this fails try again but a bit harder. If still no luck then it looks like a new sensor is required.

Roaring engine when started

Sounds like your car is over fueling. My first quick look is to make sure your throttle return spring is intact and still connected. Next remove the air ducting between air cleaner box and throttle body so that you can see that the throttle plate is fully closed at start up. If OK then reinstate the temporarily removed ducting. Next I would check your fuel pressure relief (FPR) valve on the fuel line. When the engine is running remove the vacuum line attached to it and check for fuel dribbling from it or a strong smell of fuel. If the FPR is normal and healthy the engine would normally increase in revs for few seconds and then begin to idle roughly. Put your finger over the end of the disconnected vacuum line (if healthy the engine would resume normal idle after aout 5 seconds) and watch the side arm of the FPR for about two minutes. If fuel eventually spits out then change the FPR. Sometimes the diaphragm within the FPR which is acted on by engine inlet vacuum can split and the fuel behind it is sucked into the inlet plenum making the engine rev and idle roughly.

I have just received an Avanti 928 Swing arm treadmill but it will not fit through the door to get it into the house. Can the walking platform or the bottom support frame be detached to enable it to fit...

Hello, I also have a 928 and we removed the top section to get it through the door. Do you by any chance have the user manual as I was hoping you could scan a page for me.

Kettler treadmill "silikon wartung"

Hi eirik,

Your treadmill needs lubricating.
Get a an aerosol with silicone lubricant and spray it under the belt & on top of the ground board.
Then turn the belt by hand (treadmill switched off!) until you've lubricated the whole belt.
Next leave the machine running for 5 minutes at 5 KM/H (3 M/H) without any load on it.

That should do the trick.
