Apparently, this is the type of bypass where you have to cut a wire at the immobilizer plug at the ignition switch, usually the PATS ignition wire. If the immobilizer is malfunctioning and you cannot start your vehicle, even with the key, You will have to remove the steering column shroud and /or dash and reconnect the wire that was cut.
If your Ford 250 Diesel is equipped with an immobilizer key (PATS) then you have two options. One would be the PKALL and you can find more information about the unit at bypasskit.com. It comes ready to install out of the box with no programming necessary. It requires two programmed keys to program the module. The next option is using a programmed key inside a universal bypass module (keybox).
when you try to start or when the key is in the on position and you see something red in the instrument cluster or on the dash near windshield blink very fast then it's the encrypted key not being read by computer. no way around this. only dealership or a locksmith can program a new key.
if you dont see this fast blink light then it's not the encrypted key.
There is a fix for this, part number D82-0544 is a CAV stop solenoid without immobiliser. (only has 1 terminal as aposed to 3) if you buy one from a local motor factor (about £15), replace it with what is on yours.
To do this, you need to find which of the 3 Black wires to take to the new single terminal.. simply turn on the ignition, find which wire now has 12v and that goes to the stop solenoid, tape the other two back. You'll never get another immobiliser issue :o)
