Question about Air Tools & Compressors

Need rebuilding kit for air gun

I have a Snap On AT300C 3/8" drive impact gun. I absolutely love this gun and do NOT want to part with it, but it is showing it's age and the anvil head broke causing all sockets to fall off when in use, also it is slightly gummed up. I recently disassembled and cleaned out my 1/2" drive air gun and it works great again. The problem is that I can't seem to find a rebuilding kit (i.e. gaskets, vanes etc.) or parts for this gun. Is this a discontinued model that you can no longer get parts for?? I have been unable to get in touch with my local Snap On guy and there are no resources close to me to go through for this.

Please get me some good news!!

I should also note, the attempt made to order this kit through Snap-on's website was useless. This gun is no longer listed, if I had to guess, I would say this gun is approximately 8-9 years old.

never use a hone on a air tool cylinder! use 00004 steel wool! make sure the compression rings are concave facing up! then if the vanes have the cut out on one side put that to the bottom of air motor.

Looking for rebuild kits (parts) for my N16 nail guns. I have 3 of these older guns and would like to rebuild them.

Stanley Bostitch doesn't make kits to rebuild their nail guns, you have to order each o-ring, seal, etc. seperately. The N16 was a good gun however there are very few parts available for them. You can go to to see what's available through them. You can also get part numbers for what you need for your guns and research any available parts on the web.

My 772h is running low power i pulled it apart and everything looks great a few light scatches in rear cyl .can i just polish it 320 grit or ??

you need a new rebuild kit with O rings and gaskets, take gun completely apart and make sure you get new air vanes too,the scratches dont make that much difference, but old seals will rob power from gun

My CP 734 has no power under load. Is there a rebuild kit to fix this problem and where can I get it? If a kit is available, is that a difficult rebuild? Tim

I used to repair these impacts for a living. Simplest first thing to do is back off the three 1/8" set screws in the back a couple turns. Pour a little varsol into the air inlet and plug it in. run the gun until your hand is black, (wear a glove). Once the varsol stops disconnect the air, add a few drops of air tool oil and tighten the screws slowly and evenly. You will hear the impact rpm increase. If your gun doesn't speed up to it's original scream you will have to remove the four 5/32" set screws and see what's worn. To open it hold the impact by the nose 3" off the table and position a center punch in the hole of the anvil shank with the same hand and hit it with a hammer hard enough to overtake the spring. The guts should drop on to the table in tact. The guts are in twp parts, the hammering mechanism, and the air motor. The three 1/8" screws hold the motor together. You will soon see the problem. Take the back off the air motor and it will show your if the veins are worn. Cjeck the end plates for wear. You can turn the end plates down on a lathe if available. As a rule of thumb, if the anvil shank is dry buy a repair kit, if it's wet, buy a tune-up kit. If the ring on the anvil shank doesn't turn, buy a repair kit and change your sockets. When rebuilding these front seal often leaks. These impacts are supposed to use 30 weight oil, but a mix of Ingersol Rand grease and 30 weight oil, ( just till it's slightly runny) will stay much longer. Assembling the anvil assembly can be tricky until you figure out how to hold the shank and two pins with the same hand. Good luck.

Can't find a rebuild kit for POWERMATE air impact wrenck model o024-0099sp.

well pretty much IR (ingersoll rand) makes almost every impact out there. So you can try to navigate their web site, call sears or if you have a Snap On dealer, or matco, or cornwell, or Mac tools. Just call or check out the snap on website see what the dealer for your area is. Tell them what you got and they should be able to find you a kit. They are in the tool business and keeping mechanics wrench'n .
