My problem/// cleaner turns on for a around ten (10) seconds and then shuts off wait a few minutes and it will turn on but goes off again at ten (10) seconds?????

These units have a automatic resetting thermal fuse near the motor to help to protect it from burning up by running too hot. This will need to be inspected and tested to see if it's holding it's proper temps., if not it will have to be replaced. There should also be an inspection of the machine to detect what was causing the reset to shut down that quickly, so that can be repaired as well.

Why the vacuum shut off after 3 minutes and the plug is hot

sounds like the motor maybe clogged and over heating. if you can take apart the vacuum and find the motor. if you have a shop vac use that to clean out the dust and debris. put it back together and try it again. if this doesn't work i would replace the vacuum or get it repaired. i would NOT continue to run the vacuum if the plug gets hot after 3 minutes.

Some of these units have had trouble with the motors and this is what causes them to shut off. NuTone has been pretty good about replacing them under warranty. 1-888-336-6151.

After from ten to fifteen minutes of use it automatically shuts down but will sstart up again after fifteen minutes.

It sounds as if the motor has overheated at some point and damaged the thermal protector in the motor. Be sure all the filters are clean before operating the vacuum. If it continues to shut down, the thermal protector will need to be replaced. ( Part # 28382093 ) This is a very common problem with bagless vacuums, if the main filter is not cleaned after every vacuuming.

I know nothing about your particular vacuum, but many vacuum cleaners these days have
safety cut out's, which causes the motor to do exactly what you describe. Sadly blockages, faulty switches, over stretched cables, carbon brushes etc could also give similar symptoms, so sounds like a job for the repairer on this occasion. Get a quote first if you can.

Vax infinity 1900 suddenly stopped working now no power gets to it, i've changed fuse still no power.

I have an infinity nv29 that stopped working while I was vacuuming. According to the manual I was supposed to unplug it for about 45 minutes and then try it again. I waited for over an hour and tried it again and it still won't turn on. Any suggestions?

Dyson DC17 - the vacuum shuts off automatically

I had the same issue. Got on the phone with Dyson. THe vacuum has a safety feature where if the motor gets too hot it cuts off. You have to leave it for 45 minutes or so and then it will work again. There is an underlying issue though. My problem was the black gasket thats in the debris bin shifted, probably from when emptying i pushed it on something. The black gasket should actually hang off the bottom like a skirt and the 2 groves should fit in on the groves of the gray mechanism. This seal is what provides 100% suction. Because of vaccumm has been accumulating pet hair by the belt which i hear alot of people talking about and especially in the filter area. This is because I broke the seal by not having the gasket in place properly and it wasnt sucking 100%. They are sending me a complete new cyclone unit which has the debris catcher as well as she said its probably so caked up with debris it will never work again 100%. no questions asked they are sending it to me free of charge.

So if you remove the clear cyclinder debris catch thing all you will have is the purple cyclone on top and on the bottom is the black rubber gasket....if that shifted and is no longer hanging dyson cause your vacuum is probably caked will never work properly...they will send you a new part
