When I turn on my Sony TV, ti stays on about 30 seconds then shuts off, What do you think is wrong?

Do a Power Reset.
1. Turn off TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.
If issue persists after doing the steps, reset the TV to factory default settings.
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Using the supplied remote, press and hold the UP arrow button.
3. While holding the UP arrow button press the POWER button on the TV itself.
4. When the TV goes off, release the POWER and UP arrow button.
5. The TV will turn on by itself and the initial setup screen will be displayed. Just follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.

Hello, the DVD play fine but tv mode, continually says no signal and screen is blue. Please help

You either have the DVD player plugged into the wrong input on the TV or the TV not set to that input. If using HDMI change the HDMI cord to another HDMI port on the the TV. In an Extreme case you have a bad connecting cord (either HDMI or other type.)

I doubt it was the main fuse. I would try doing a hard reset on the TV by unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in

Unit will not load channels, they must be manually dialed in. it is not saving channels

Have you already made your TV scan/search for channels and let it finish? If you have, there is probably something wrong with your TV. If you still have the warranty call the manufacturer support, or call the store you bought it from and tell them the TV is broken and you want a refund or for it to be fixed. Sometimes just unplugging it and leaving it off for a few minutes and plugging it back in fixes it.

I plugged in the VGA cord from my computer to my television

Most likely your current resolution isn't supported by the TV. Before you plug your TV up to your computer, set your desktop resolution to 1024 x 768. This is the standard and is supported by most if not all flat screens. If it doesn't work on this setting try 800 x 600 or 1280 x 768. One of those three should show up. If no resolutions work, then there is something wrong with the TV. If other monitors work on your computer then the computer is just fine.

My girlfriends computer did this a lot. What we did and I don't know if it would work for you was to use the HDMI cord (obviously your laptop has to have an HDMI). The S-Video cord was very tricky to keep it from going black we had to mess with the cord a lot!

Lost power cord

Should be OK as long as it's capable of carrying the wattage the system is pulling. The TH-42PX60U is rated at 320 watts max - you should be OK as most computer cables are rated well above that. However if you're worried, us the power cord from a laser printer or copy machine - it will definately carry the load.
