Question about Frigidaire PLD4460REC Stainless Steel Dishwasher
It seems like the touch pad controls work sometimes then not. the start button wont enguage the any cycles. if i take the door apart then put it back together a connection is made and then the start button will engage. then when its done running its cycle its back to taking it apart again. well not that even doesnt seem to work.

This is very likely due to a bad main electronic control board but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. If possible use the meter and the wiring diagram to check input/output voltages looking for discrepancies between the diagram and the actual meter readings.

Some fault in the dishwasher is causing it to believe the door is not locked.
I would check the door lock.
check this youtube video out for the location of the door switch.
(quality of video may not be the best but gives an idea of its location).
If you can give me the exact model number I can find out more details of the problem you are having.

The door switch has failed. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru testing and replacing. It may be a different model but the process will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model.

by the descrition you are giving you will need to replace the main control board.Part number 154568401.you may also need to check the float switch.The part will run about 110.00 dollars from a local parts store

The washer must be empty and the control must be in the OFF
state before pressing the touch-pad sequence to start the test.
Starting the Test Mode
? Close the door.
? Push CONTROL/ON (if present on this model).
? Select the DRAIN/SPIN cycle.
? Select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SPEED touch-pad.
? Push PREWASH OPTION four times within five seconds. (If
PREWASH OPTION is not present on this model, press EXTRA
RINSE four times within five seconds.) C:00 will light up on the
If the Starting procedure fails, push the PAUSE/CANCEL touch-pad,
then repeat the starting procedure.
Test Program Control
In order to advance to the next step of the test procedure, push
