SOURCE: Hotpoint washine machine ERROR F5 machine blocked

Do the following.

  1. Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
  2. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood. Alternatively bale out the sump under the main screen filter plate.
  3. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked or restricted.
  4. Also check that the main waste drain pipe and one way valve to a sink waste connection if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
  5. Access the pump from under the lower rotor arm and protective grille and check that the impeller is free to move and is not clogged or restricted by debris or sludge. Clean as required.
  6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power. It is a good idea to take digital pictures of the pump assembly before attempting to work on it or remove it so that you can refer back to it when you reassemble the unit or replace it with a new unit at a later date / time.
8. Remove and check the electrical connections to the pump and make sure they are in good order.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage. If they are then clean them thoroughly.
10. Then remove the pump and check motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. Also check that the pump impeller vanes are in good order and not blocked. If necessary replace the pump with a new and identical unit.
11. Carefully reassemble the pump observing the correct placement of gaskets, seals, O Rings, hoses and securing straps, electrical wiring.
12. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.

SOURCE: my pipes froze to my washing machine and now that

Replace your washer fill valve. You will need to remove the three to four screws in back, holding the top of the washer on. Slide the top panel toward the rear and lift the lid off. You can now easily access your fill valve. This is what your hot and cold hoses connect to. You need a complete model number to order the water valve. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

My washing machine keeps flashing F5... It works for the cycle but when it starts to get to the spinning process it flashes F5 and doesn't work

Sounds like a blocked pump, unfortunately unless you are very handy they make it impossible for you to do it as it involves leaning the machine back and taking off hoses etc and it can be tricky to get back on unless as I say you are a DIY'er.

Water is not getting into the washing machine. Fridgidaire Crown series. Water is coming through the hoses. Detatched hose from washer, water still comes out. Cleaned screen on back of washer. No...

Hi. sounds like the pressure system is blocked if it goes through a cycle with no water. Find the pressure switch in the top of the machine its the size of a small coffee jar lid, it has wires and a thin rubber pipe to it, pull the pipe off and see if the switch clicks as you do so. If it does you need to follow the pipe, at the end it goes to the pressure chamber. It will be blocked with gunge and will need cleaning out, also blow through the pipe to make sure thats clear. Make sure you fit the pipe back with no air leaks or the machine will over fill and flood. If you don't feel confident in doing this Please call an engineer.Best to be safe, it could also have damaged the heater or thermal cutout

Says F5 on display, wont empty.

just had F5 blockage warning on hotpoint aqualtis. Removed front panel on the bottom and unscrewed filter, cleaned and replaced. checked all outlet pipe was clear. Laid washing machine on to its back and removed black pipe from pump and checked and finally removed the other end of the pipe that joins to the drum. large ball acts a valve and a missing sock was found in the drum end! replaced all parts and washing machine works a treat! before the f5 warning the machine leaked from the door on a couple of occasions, no problem since and may have been a build up of water finding its only way out.

My washer (500 plus series) has a odor during operation that smell strongly of sewer, where is it coming from and how can I solve the problem

make sure the drain pipe out of the machine is installed at the right height per owners manual and the stand pipe isnt plugged with debris which will back wash into the pump area of machine, also make sure the pipe and drain hose arent sealed they need outside air or the system will vapor lock per say and siphon back into the machine, overall make sure there isn't and obstructions to the drain from kinked hoses or debris in the drain lines, flush out all lines with fresh water and make sure lines take all water and dont back-up during rinse-out

The hoover HNL 6166 does not empty the water when on a spin programe.

Hello

I have just finished fixing this on my own machine, first thing is to check the filter isnt blocked, on the bottom of the washing machine there is a panel, pop this off and you'll then see a disc like thing with a screw in it, take this screw out and turn the disc anti clockwise (make sure you have some towels ready as there will be alot of water coming out, basicly what ever is in the drum and in the pipes), then take out any loose bits of rubbish.

If that doesnt work you will have to pull the washing machine out and lay it on its back, if i remember correctly there should be a black tray underneath (mine isnt there as i was told from an engineer its not needed), take this tray off and then you'll see a black pipe with 3 outlets, to get this pipe off you will need a pair of pliers (or pipe grips) and a philips screw driver, take this pipe off and see what treasures you have found (i found £1.01, a leather foot and a bracelet).

i rinsed mine through before putting it back and rolled it around in my hand to get rid of the limescale.

I hope this has helped

Thank you

Shane

Aqualtis AQGD 169 S F12 problem Please help :-(

ok, I have just had the 'blocked pump message and after much playing around I have solved it.

Pull the machine out and take the drain out and place in a bucket. Then tilt the machine on its side about 30 to 45 degrees so you can get a hand underneath. At the front there is a black rubber pipe-squeeze this a few times and then run the machine on a pump cycle. Put water in machine (i used a bucket) and repeat. You should get the foul smelling gunk out of the pump. I did this about 4 times and finally the water comes out clean and you should be ok.

Regards and good luck,

Matt
