Question about Sony Vaio PCG-71318L
It's turns just fine but when out of nowhere I shuts off on its own. The power cord is working fine charges the battery but even if its connected it turns off all drivers are up to date and I have checked the the power settings.
It may just be overheating. The fan inside might be not working properly or it could be clogged up with dust where the vents are. If you feel confident enough it would be worth you stripping it down and checking the insides.

Perform these steps and the issue will be resolved if the issue is with the Static charges on the Mother board.
I recommend you use Power Drain procedure by following these steps:
1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now.
5. Turn on the Notebook power.

do you get any leds when charger is inserted? if yes, try to remove battery, insert charger and press power on. also, i would recommend you test the output of your charger using a multimeter to rule out the possibility of a faulty charger.

OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.
