Error code ##343

The display flashes saying "check printer ##343", and it doesn't print anything.....

We have just attempted to install an Cannon imageclass mp360 and the error message "check printer ##343" is displayed.

Can you please help.

Dear sair ,
i have a multifunctions ink jet printer canon mp730 photo , and give an error numb ## 343 and message check printer , and i sont know what i do , and i need to solve this printer with myself in house ,
so what i can do ,
pls sed to me or explane to me how i can , asap .

Printer says check printer ##343

you can reset the error by doing

1. Service menu: Menu -> Scan -> Copy -> Scan
2. Select "TEST MODE"
3. Select "[8] ETC.."
4. Select "[4] EEPROM CLEAR"
5. Select "[1] INK COUNT"
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returns you to the TEST MOD sub-menu))
8) press the [ON/OFF] key (which resets the printer)

Error message says unable to clean. print head is stuck at far right side. how can I release print head? Thanks. Jim

You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.This will reset the purge count value. Then restart the printer, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message

Canon MP36 error ##343


The error code means "Ink Detection Waste Ink Tank Full". This means that the ink pad needs to be replaced. Also, dont forget to set the eepron counter to 0. Please follow the steps:


scroll to TESTMODE
scroll to PRINTER TEST
scroll to EEPROM CLEAR
and the press the numeric key 3 or and keys.
Select INK COUNT, and then press the
numeric key 0 or and keys to reset the waste ink capacity.
Press the [Stop/Reset] key and then the
[ON/OFF] key to end the test mode.

I tries to replicate this error in my printer and I was able to aolve it with the above mentioned steps.

OK I had the hp error code some problem and here is the conversation I had with the tech...

Earnest: I will assist you in this regard. I understand that a error code with 0xc18a0001 with "Ink System failure" is displayed on the front panel of the All-In-One printer. Am I correct?

Earnest: May I have the model number of All-In-One you are using?

Earnest: Please let me know the room temperature in which printer is replaced
James Cowan: 67 degrees F
Earnest:: OK. Please perform the below steps on the front panel of the printer to resolve the issue
James Cowan: OK
Earnest:: Press and hold the "left arrow" key. Press the "Setup" key and release both keys, display should say "Enter Special Key Combo". Press and release the "OK" button
Earnest: Please ignore the above steps
James Cowan: OK yes nothing seemed to do anything
Earnest: Please perform the below steps on the front panel of the printer. Press and Hold the "Print Photos" & "Red Eye Removal" buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say"Enter Special Key Combo". Press and release in sequence"Red Eye Removal", "Print Photos", "Red Eye Removal"
Earnest: Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev (something like R0616R)

Earnest: Display should say "Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear". Press and release the "OK" Button. Message changes to "Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue". Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the "Ink System Failure" screen appears. Please do not try to print at this stage

Earnest: Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet. Let me know once you are done with the above steps

Earnest: Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer. Turn the unit on. The printer may display message "Use POWER button to shutdown the printer" followed by "Press OK to continue". Press OK

Earnest: Let me know the message displaying on the front panel of the printer
James Cowan: printer preparation occuring - do not interrupt

4) Press the down arrow button to select Tools and then press OK
5) Press the down arrow button to select Self-test Report , and press OK. The self-test report prints

Error ##343 and it didn't print anything Orange light below screen has been flashing, screen message "Waste Ink Nearly Full". No idea where waste ink container is kept? Have changed cartridges. Now saying...

Manual Reset procedure Waste Ink Tank for Canon MP390:
  1. Start with printer on, press additional functions, Scan, Copy, Scan. Now you should be in service mode.
  2. Select Test mode (must be the last available selection).
  3. Select #8 Printer Test, it will start cleaning then it will come up with some other option: push the + or - button until it says 8-3 then hit the select button
  4. The menu will now say EEPROM Clear
  5. Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set
  6. Press Stop/Reset Followed by the power button and then wait for it to restart.

I got a Error code 9-343

any 9 -xxx code is related to the xerographic area of the machine NOT the fuser area- you don't mention the model number so I can't be specific, but try the Drum/CRU/toner area, make sure you haven't dislodged anything (modules, plugs, sockets etc.)
