Question about Motorola Mobility A630

Z & X keys and speaker do not work

I have taken good care of my phone, but for some reason the z and x keys on the inside keyboard do not work during text messaging or for game controls. I might be able to live with this, but the main problem is that the speaker just stopped working. It does not ring and the speaker phone function no longer works. I have to rely on vibrate, which means I miss a lot of calls. I know my settings for ring styles and volumes are set right as I have used this phone for almost 2 years now and know pretty much all the menus by heart. Please help!!! Thanks!!!

Re: Z & X keys and speaker do not work

You need to have the keyboard service this will correct the issue so take the phone to a mobile service center and have them fix it for you.

My sony w705 button below the screen is not working except on/off button..while the keypad is still working properly..can pls help?

there are several causes why those keys doesn't functions:

1) Defective upper keyboard.
2) Dirty or loose upper keyboard.
3) Some of the key get stuck and causes other keys not to function.

You can try opening your phone if it doesn't have warranty anymore cause opening it can void its warranty.

But if you wish to do it yourself be carefully cause opening it is very tricky and you might do more damage to your phone inside especially the LCD. There are sensitive parts and small parts and be cautious on removing them and be sure to place it back to its original position after.

Have plenty of patience and time in doing this. after you opened it on found out everything is nornal and no dirt on the upper keyboard chances are the upper board is defective.

you can order online for that board at ebay and be sure you are ordering the right one.

Hope i help you with your problem...
Don't forget to rate me OK... Thanks...

Touch screen does not work when in the open position e.g. actual keyboard visible and when its closed and using the android keyboard it responds slowly and or enters incorrect keys

Hi, You need to check the flex,

Hi,what makes the phone to display phone half of it is white with this big black dot to the side of it,
is because there is a flex inside that connected to the screen of the phone that makes the phone display
is faulty and it needs to be replaced so that the screen can be as one again.

Touch screen

The reason your phones touch screen is not working is simply because there is a problem with the flexi of the phone.

If the screen is not damaged in any way, then the assumption of it being the screen is absolutely correct.

To fix the flexi of the phone;

1. Get the appropriate screwdriver,
2. remove the battery, the battery cover, and your sim,
3. Turn the back of the phone,
4. you will see five rubbers,
5. pick them off with a pincher, you will see screws under them, unscrew the phone,
6. Get a credit card and slip it through the line around the phone then apply a little force in separating them apart,
7. you will see the panel of the phone, carefully lift it up,
8. you will see a flexi that runs through the screen to the panel, carefully detach the flexi from the panel,
9. unscrew the screen of the phone, remove the flexi connected to the screen also and replace it.
10. Reverse the process to reassemble the phone.

Take care.

Remove your memory card, if it stops freezing, the card's your problem. Either the card is not compatible (more than 4gb or SDHC instead of SD), or the phone is referring to the card during normal operations eg wallpaper, ringtones etc. Copy these "operational" files to the phone and only use the card for storage of pictures, music etc, but not for anything the phone uses regularly. If the problem persists after you've taken the card out, sorry can't help...

My Blackberry 8350i speaker is dead! Some times work, some times don´t. I update the sistem, change all configurations... But´s nothing work. Is this a hardware or software problem?

Sometimes (and maybe not with this phone) the physical connector to the speaker ( since the speaker is separate from the phone circuitry) can be disconnected. If the phone is not under warranty or you do not have protection insurance, you can carefully take the back case off and see if the speaker has actually become disconnected.
Its rarely software.

Cant find speakerphone button on my phone

look at your keyboard / keypad. the speaker phone button is right next to the letter M. It has a dollar sign and a speaker icon on top. Press that key during a call to activate the speaker phone.

Env2 got wet, front keypad having problmes, "o.k" button doesn't work can I remove front cover, how??

This just happened to me last night. I FIXED IT!

The bottom half was working, the top keyboard was not working. The only button on the top that worked was the power key. Today, I got a screwdriver and took the whole entire thing apart. Start by removing the battery, then take out the 6 back screws. Gently pull the back apart - this will be tough, do it evenly around all sides instead of getting just one side and yanking or you might break it. two of the screws on the top are accessible readily, but the two near the hinge are only accessible once the back is apart. Take the front apart with these 4 screws. dry it out with a q-tip. There should be four more screws inside - take those apart and dry clean. Pull the face off and dry the large white plate that receives all the button action. I put it all back together and my buttons worked again. I didn't even feel like I did anything to fix it because it wasn't really wet inside, i think there was just a micro-dot of moisture on that white plate. I hope it works for you. I was so excited about mine that I got on here to tell others. But hey - I also prayed about it and God cares even about the little things!!!!! Now - I've got the battery out and am leaving it out for a couple of days just to make sure that its totally drive because any water in there could still damage the phone if there is a power source. GOOD LUCK!

Help me plz

If the connection is lost for any reason during the software update process, like the battery runs out, then the phone shuts down leaving the phone pretty much dead.

The handset can be taken to a Nokia Care Point where it can be fixed by an engineer, or you can visit the Care Centre online and perform a Force Update on your phone and attempt to recover it yourself. Visit

Good Luck
