Question about Philips 60PP9352 60" Rear Projection Television
Ok, Older projection sets are like older cars...They need to be maintained and over time parts need to be replaced.
Common problems include...
1) Faulty Convergence Chips - They just burn up after 4-5 years.
Symptom: One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu..Screen may look 3D or out of allignment.
2) Dull images - CRT Fluid gets cloudy after 4-5 years and should be replaced.
Symptom: Convergence is OK but the video looks dull. May look orange or red. May have white halo around images.
Because you can't move the Blue in one or more directions I would start with replacing the convergence chips first. That is what's included in Kit "A" at www.TvRepairKits.com. After that you may want replace the CRT fluid.
Its also verly likey that you need to replace the CRT fluid also. After about 4-5 years it gets cloudy and should be repalced if you want the best possible picture.
