SOURCE: GPX HM1836 Boombox CD Tray spins all the time and doesn't stop

Hi
Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with your model, but the way it is supposed to work, is when you load a CD, you will see the laser lense move up and down a few times as the laser attempts to focus on the disk, and as well you will see the spin motor spin a few times. If the spin motor is going all the time, and the driver chip has been changed, then there is either a circuit problem giving the "on" pin of the driver ic a signal to spin at all times, or the microprocessor that runs the Cd has failed and is sending signal to spin constantly. Unless this is a hugely expensive blaster, I would replace it given the type of problem you are having.

Good Luck!

HP Z1 WORKSTATION WON'T EJECT CD

Make sure the computer is turned on then Take a Paper Clip (Gem Clip) and straighten it out then kneel in front of the desktop facing the cd drawer. Look closely at the drawer and you will see tiny hole where you will insert the paper clip (Gem Clip) and at the same time Press the Button on the cd drawer while applying pressure by pushing the paper clip (Gem Clip). The drawer will pop open. Don't worry about breaking something, that's why that tiny hole is there.

Opening cd player

What about opening the cd player?

Are you saying the cd drawer will not open when you push the button? If so, try the steps below.

Take a paper clip (Gem Clip) and straighten it out then get in front of the cd drawer where you place the cd. Look for a small tiny hole on the drawer and insert the paper clip (Gem Clip) into the tiny hole and push it in while you press the button on the drawer. Don't worry about breaking something, use a little force to push the paper clip in, that's why that hole is there.

Panasonic dvd home theatre system SA-HT520. My 2 year old was playing with buttons on dvd player and now when i press open/close button it is saying locked and won't open, is there anything i can try...

The system has a locked / unlocked toggle sequence on the main unit by holding down stop (or Play) and then tapping the power button. Use this sequence lock or unlock the DVD / CD drawer.

I have a Phillips model 601/25 CD player and the CD drawer won't open - it makes a whirring noise but refuses to open.\r\n J A Adamson <jadamson35@gmail.com>

The rubber band has stretched with age. Easy fix, take cover off (several screws around the case) and band is easily accessed. Even a cheap elastic band will work as a replacement for now, it only opens the drawer mechanism, no effect on sound quality.

There is a disc jammed in my cd player and the tray sometimes opens and closes but wont bring the disc out

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Locate your CD player’s manual Eject button. It is usually a small hole located underneath the CD drawer.

Use a stiff wire, a paper clip or safety pin—into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.

Remove the CD and see if there is a problem with it. Most CD player drawers get stuck when a CD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the CD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.

To open the CD player top to remove the cd/CD manually--

  • Unplug the CD player and take the outer casing of the CD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
  • Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending CD tray finally comes to rest within the CD player. It’s the part that holds the CD loader in place.
  • Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don’t want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases.
Points to remember while performing above steps---

 Before you remove the CD player cover, try turning the device off and then back on to see if the disc will come out after the machine has rebooted.
 Use the opportunity while you have the outer casing off to clean the lens of your CD player.
 Never work on an electrical device that's still plugged in.
 Opening a CD player may negate the warranty. Read your warranty carefully before you proceed.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
