Question about Iomega Computers & Internet
Ok so I am trying to in the Iomega Encryption App to get to the Password screen in the app to enter my password to unlock the Hard Drive. I cannot bring up the HDD in the Computer Menu without first unlocking the HDD through the Security Encryption. For some reason when I click on the app, all it brings up is the settings menu for when it is not connected or if it is connected and that is it. My computer DOES detect the HDD but I can't seem to unlock the HDD through a password, it just does not show that menu. I just recently upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 pro. But I think I forgot to unplug Iomega Hard Drive while Windows 8 was being installed, I don't know if that had to do with anything. I have tried uninstalling the Encryption Application but that did not do anything for the password menu to come up in the Application. I just tried my Hard Drive on another Windows 7 Computer, which I never connected to and the computer installed the application and I was able to unlock the HDD through the password menu no problem. I really would like some sort of solution as I have like 200 GBs already on this HDD!
Ive the same issue as yours. I recently updated my OS from windows 7 to windows 8pro. I've an iOmega ego, which works perfectly with windows vista and 7 but doesn't work with windows 8. It doesn't let me past the settling tab to p/w tab. iOmega is still working on a solution for the same. Hope it gets resolved asap!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I have the Thermaltake BlacX
I know it might sound a bit simple, but let's start at the beginning.
Make sure that the power is properly plugged in, and that it's securely plugged into the USB port.
Put in the hard drive you will be using.
Now turn on your device by clicking on the power button.
Listen out for a "ding" or a chime in your OS.
If you DO hear one, the hard drives may need to be properly formatted or not properly assigned.
If you hear a chime, go to your desktop and right-click on "Computer" and click "Manage"
Go to "Disk Management" and at the top, there are a few options, and check for your hard drives, and right-click on the proper one and click on "Change Drive Letter and Paths" assign it a letter, and check "Computer" to see if came up.

It sounds like a couple of possible issues. One issue could be that the partition for the drive was accidentally set too low. You can check the drive partitions by going to:
Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
Once you're in there, you can click on "Disk Management" located on the left. If you click on one of the drives, you'll be able to see the partitions of the drives at the bottom, represented by blue bars and the hard drive's name. If you right click on one of the drives, you might be able to click "Extend volume" to extend the drive. If not, try uninstalling the program that you recently installed onto the drive, and if even that does not work, try to format the drive.

Your pc is generally configured to save all stuff to C drive as its default. You could then cut and past it into your new drive or when you are downloading specify the drive letter of you 1tb drive to save to. If you do not do this it is normal for it to save to C drive-that is also what mine does. I doubt anything is wrong-it is just the default drive. It soulnds like it is connected-copy and paste something onto it to test it(dont cut and paste at this point as you need to be certain it works. When you have done this,, open up whatever you copied onto it and ensure it is ok.
