SOURCE: NEED MANUAL FOR TORO WHEEL HORSE GARDEN TRACTOR 416-8

As far as I understand, fixya.com does not stock or sell this mataerial. The purpose of this site is to get direction on a course of action to follow ...

Here is my suggestion ... if you have looked in the manuals section of fixya.com and not found what you are looking for, visit the manufacturers web site which is probably www.toro.com/wheelhorse or something very similar ... Google it to find it ... or you could search www.archive.org

Thanks for using fixya.com

If this helps you, positive comments are appreciated

SOURCE: Need to remove rear wheels to replace tires on MTD riding mower.

most likely rust has taken over
find some liquid wrench or pb blaster and spray the axles liberally and let it penetrate the axles and wheel hubs where the axle goes through.
use a 2x4 and a hammer to tap against the wheel hub to try to move it down the axle then tap in back on to try to free it up as the penetrating oil works in, spin the wheel and tap in different areas of it
the worst case cenario would be to use a torch and heat the axle and hub up and drive it off, but it sounds as though you are moving it some and with some patience they eventually should come off
when you put them back be sure to coat the axle with some grease and do not forget to reinstall the key stock in each wheel, if they have it
the bolt in the center of the axle is all you need to remove and note where the washers came from and where they go back.

hope this helps you some

SOURCE: I'm interested in a snow

Hello,
My name is Dane and I am going to assist you in solving your problem.

I looked up the information on this snow cab and I found out that it is a universal unit that should fit on any MTD mower 1997 or newer. It should be fine. I would, however, buy this from somewhere like a local mower supply shop or hardware store so that you have the ability to return it just in case.
Well, I hope I've helped. If you found this useful, please leave me some THUMBS UP if you think I'm deserving! :-) Thank you! Dane

Need to replace the rear wheel bearing in the left

Replace them both at the same time. You\'ll need a shop press to get the old bearings off and to push the new ones back on. There are 4 bolts on the bearing cover behind the flange that have the studs on it that holds on the wheel. Take them out then take off the cover on the rear end. There is a horse shoe clip that holds the axle shaft to the gears. Remove the clips and pull the axle out.

I bought a Toro rear wheel drive lawnmower last May.I have never had any problems with it until now. the left rear wheel sticks. With the power off, I can roll it a little and it will stick and then I can...

The gear drive is probably just a little dirty. You can clean and lube the gears by pulling of the rear wheels and then remove the rear drive gears. Clean them and the axle and reinstall. Be careful to reinstall in the same direction as was removed. A smearing of axle grease in the axle and inside of the drive gears should take care of this.

Also remember that TORO mowers come with a 2 year warranty. Go to www.toro.com to find your nearest servicing dealer.

Good luck!

I have a self-propelled Toro Personal Pace lawnmower, Model 20022. Both rear wheels engage and rotate when I lift the rear wheels off the ground, but when I put the mower back on the ground, the right...

Routine maintenance is required on the drive gears on these Toro mowers and Toro doesn't tell anybody. Put a block under the rear end to lift the wheel off the ground. Remove the wheel. You will see the drive gear. VERY IMPORTANT: take good notes, pictures, etc..when dissasembling. Remove the outer snap ring retainer from the axle shaft. Next should be a thin washer. Remove the washer. Pay very close attention to the gear, as it has to go back on in exactly the same direction. Remove the gear. There is a slot in the axle shaft. Rotate the axle to have this slot pointed up. In the slot is a small key (rectangular piece of metal), remove the key. Under this key is a spring. It, and the key, is stuck in the axle slot, therefore not allowing the gear to drive the wheel. Dig out the key and spring, clean them and the slot. Put a dab of axle grease in the slot and reassemble. In my shop, this is part of a mower tune-up, and is recommended every 50 running hours. That is usually every other year for the average home-owner.
DO NOT TIP your mower over to do this repair. Mowers are just like cars, they like all 4 wheels to stay on the ground. Tipping a mower over can/will cause fluids to go places they aren't supposed to go.
This is a relatively simple repair and can be done with basic mechanical knowledge and basic tools.
Do the other side too, it needs it.
Good luck!

1994 buick roadmaster, oil leaking out of right rear axle, checked brake fluid is full, could it be differential oil leak @ end of axle??

If what you see leaking is very oily and does not evaporate, likely it is an axle seal. If there are no leaks in the brake system, that's the only thing back there that can leak. If the axle bearing is going away, it can damage the seal so make sure you look for small shiny metal flakes behind the seal when you replace it or you will be doing the job again very soon. Can't remember...that IS rear wheel drive right?

Usually when you have zero spark, it's one of 3 things. Either there's a shutoff that is trying to shut it off when it's not supposed to, the coil is bad, or the flywheel key is sheared.
