Question about Fisher and Paykel Washing Machines

Fisher and Paykel diverter won't work

I replaced what I tought was a bad diverter. I am getting 120 volt to the wax moter on the diverter. Checked wires from board to diverter. Is the wax moter 110v or 220v. I don't know if the new diverter is bad or I am not getting the right voltage from the ERC.

The plunger should be out when wax solenoid is hot.
When non energized outputs to drain pipe.
Check to see if it's the right way around.

Hi there
That fault is the pump blocked error (no change in water level).
i have a quick and easy way to solve this problem.

first turn the machine off then tilt the machine back and lean it on something(a chair or wall), look underneath, in the top right hand corner of the plastic outer boul you will see a small pump motor it has a fan on it spin this fan and if it is hard to turn that means there is somthing stuck in the drain pump keep turning the fan and try to free whatever is stuck in the pump, then try the machine on spin again all goin well the object in the pump should come out with the drain water(doing this will not harm the machine) if the object is still stuck you will need to get the water out of the machine (bailing or siphioning will work) and tilt the machine back again and take the wires off the pump and there should be a white tab on the boul holding the pump on pull this tab and twist the pump anticlockwise about a quarter turn(you will need a few towels or a boul or bucket to catch the water) and it should come off exposing the blockage.
Hope this solves your Problem.

I have a Fisher & Paykel GW609AU Smartdrive Excellence 6.5 Washing Machine that would start then stop then start then stop a few more times before eventually beeping.
I fixed it by bypassing(joined the white and yellow wire) the trip out switch which is located under the control module(one screw to remove). Now it Works.

Unplug the machine have someone tilt the machine back and look under the machine for a little fan on a motor give it a turn to see if it spins it might just be sticky or it may need replacing.

What does error 52 mean

52. (00110100) Phase 5 and 6 Eco - Diverter Top-up Fault
More than 6 attempts to top-up the water level in the bowl, this then signifies the
valve has not closed and is diverting to drain, or the top-up was not increasing quick
enough suggesting the valve has a blockage and is also draining.
Primary Source: Diverter valve
Action: Remove the diverter valve and check for blockages or broken hinge
mechanism.
Secondary Source: Wax Solenoid
Action:
Check the resistance of the wax solenoid, also look for corrosion on the terminals
(greenie deposit) resistance range will be between 0.7k? and 2.5k?. Values are
dependant on ambient temp and when the valve was last actuated. Anything
outside of these values should be automatically replaced.

Take the diverter valve out remove the brown wax solenoid don't get it wet.
and un-clip the casing carefully not to break clips,

I ran the diagnostic on my fisher and paykel gwl 11 and it has a fault code 51. Is that more than just a diverter value?

This is error code 51
51. (00110011) Phase 5 and 6 Eco - Diverter Valve Fault
Primary: The motor controller has registered a drop in water level in the
recirculation phase of the wash cycle, water is being drained instead of recirculated.
Or water has been sprayed onto the Valve from an external source and caused the
solenoid to blow.
Action:
Turn the power off at the machine but leave the power on at the wall, then measure
the voltage across the terminals of the wax actuator, if a reading of 230V is
achieved the motor controller has failed due to the valve and both will need to be
replaced.
Secondary: Check for blockage in the valve itself or a broken hinge mechanism.

Error code 52

Diverter Valve Fault
Remove Diverter Valve (Down near the Pump Under Bowl) Check for Blockages or broken hinge mechanism
Check resistance of wax solenoid on diverter Valve
Resistance Should be between 0.7 - 2.5kohm

Fisher & Paykel washer stops and beeps

52. (00110100) Diverter Top-up Fault
More than 6 attempts have been made to top-up the water level in the bowl. This then
signifies the valve has not closed and is diverting to drain, or the top-up was not increasing
quickly enough, suggesting the valve has a blockage and is also draining.
Primary Source: Diverter valve.
Action: Remove the diverter valve and check for blockages as well as
checking that the hinge mechanism on the valve hasn't broken.
Remove the hinge from the solenoid and check that the flap is free to
move.
Secondary Source: Wax solenoid
Action: Check the resistance of the wax solenoid. Also look for corrosion
(greenish deposit) on the terminals. Resistance range will be
between 0.7kOhms and 2.5kOhms. Resistance will depend on ambient
temperature and when the valve was last actuated. Anything outside
of these resistances and the valve should be automatically replaced.

My Fisher Paykel 8kg Intuative Washing Machine doesn't work on the Eco Wash cycle

Your eco Diverter valve has failed. this is a wax solenoid and is a common part to fail, it is located under the machine in the drain hose next to the drain pump.

Fisher & Paykel GW611 Excellence does not pump water out. All lights are on and when it is suppose to pump, you can hear the noise, but no water coming out of the hose!

It sounds like the drain pump or the diverter valve is restricted. Check to make sure that the drain hose is clear then disconnect power and lay the machine's front on a padded surface to access the drain pump and the diverter valve at the bottom of the tub. Remove the pump's inlet and outlet hoses then check and clear from any debris that may prevent water from draining out. Check the impeller for any damage or restriction.

Check the diverter valve for the same condition as the pump described above. T
he diverter valve is where the drain pump and the recirculation pump inlet hoses are attached from. Make sure the valve is in the drain position while the drain pump is working. Replace the drain pump and/or the diverter valve if deemed necessary.

Hi, I have a Fisher Paykel DD603I (integrated) dishdrawer unit. The bottom drawer soap dispenser has water in it after it runs (and leftover soap), and there is a small amount of water sitting in the...

Hi

Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it'll not work. Please check the voltage to the wax motor/Bi-metal strip; also inspect the connections to these. Hope this helps...

Hi just read your posting.Could you please supply additional information on your machine. In your posting you mentioned the machine does not wash.Does it fill with water?Does the machine drain the water when it is washing. Why did you replace the diverter. Was the original burnt out.In my experience when the diverter goes faulty it usually makes the control module go faulty as well. Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you.
