SOURCE: Refrigerator will not cool
Unplug power, pull refrigerator away from wall and gently remove and examine both sides of control board, Look for burn marks or smell of burns and then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

You need to "reboot" the computer--unplug, count to 30, replug. Wait about 15 moinutes to see if it comes back. Our brand new one did not come up to temp until after we did that several times. Tunrs out 1 week later we had a catastrophic failure of the temp mechanism--it read properly but everything was warm. (the door was not left open) Ruined some very expensive food (steak, lobster) we were getting ready to entertain.
When we re-booted several times it got back to temp. GE refused to send someone out because eventually, the computer got "unstupid" and came back to temp. (They said if it was holding temp they would charge me for a service call--the unit was BRAND NEWI) finally got them to come out because I said it was not holding temperature. The technician took out the original board--which by the way had clearly markde on it that it had failed at least once in the pre-ship test phase, and replaced it with a DIFFERENT part number. Why, my guess that the original computer had too many failures.
Fortunately we have an extended warranyt--which we got because of the ICEMAKER, not the temp control. Give me back my old Kenmore fridge! If anything looks amiss again, I am insisting that they come out and replace the board. My guess is that the boards are throw away items that they don't test for what what wrong. (either too costly or they don't know what they are doing)

It is possible the water line inside the freezer door froze . Remove the bottom kick plate and follow the white tubing about 6" to a coupling . Push in on the white ring and at the same time , pullout on the tubing . Push the water dispensor , and if water comes out of the hose going under the fridge , this means the line is frozen in the door . If no water comes out , it means the water tank at the bottom of the fridge section (behind crispers ) is probably frozen . A hair dryer should work on the tank , but , a different procedure will be needed to thaw the door . Come back if door is frozen for the procedure .

Testimonial: "The diagnostic aid was helpful. Still trying to figure out how to unfreeze the water line in the door of the side by side GE refrigerator, however. "
. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on
and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.
Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm
How to check stuff>
