In the last 6 months, I have fixed 3 dryers with your symptoms. In each case, after taking the dryer completely apart, I found it plugged up with a huge amount of lint. This lint was not caught by the filter screen, it had collected all over the inside of the machine. It required dismantling the machine completely to clean,. Each dryer then worked fine.
Be blessed.
on the opposite side of the carburator it has 2 ears on it just turn it on the side wit apan under it the older models have a drain plug underneath use a 3/8 extension on it turn countr colckwise .
The thermostatic fuse is getting hot during the run cycle and then staying open until the dryer cools down completely.
You may fix just by cleaning out the entire dryer. Remove the top cover and vacuum out thoroughly. Replace a torn lint screen and make sure your exhaust conduit is not leaking lint everywhere.
If you can't fix by cleaning, you will have to replace the thermostat which is a $5 part byt a $100 repair.
If the motor alone has stopped working, you can remove the motor and test it. Most...unless labeled as such... are run at mains voltage. Use care and try that. If not working on the mains voltage, find out why you are not getting that voltage locally in the machine. Does the unit heat the food? If not, you may have an issue with the thermal overload sensor. It is black, about 10 mm in diameter and 5 mm thick...two wires coming out. Generally, it is mounted in the keyboard/power supply area against the wall of the cavity. If it is open, no power.
--Bad motor run windings
--bad motor switch
These are two possibilities. How old is the dryer. may not be worth it.
get the model# from the dryer & price a motor. (new motor cures
both of these possibilities)
