You should be able to use it just like a telephone. Make sure you have the phone wire plugged into the in jack and the telephone unit wire plugged into the out wire. If it's plugged in backwards, it won't work. Put your papers in, press the number you want and press start or send.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I want to connect my fax from my cannon mx340 and dont have a instuction manuel can some help me?

Plug in the RJ-11 cable at the phone jack and the MX340. Press the Fax button and then the Menu button to get the Fax Settings menu. Press the left/right arrows to highlight Fax Receive Mode. Then press OK. Select Telephone Priority Mode (you will always pick up the handset and then put it down if the call is a fax. If an answering machine is connected the Fax will be automatically answered), Fax Priority Mode (the fax will be automatically received. If you hear the machine's ringtone, pick up the handset and press Stop to answer the call.), Fax only or DRPD (distinctive ring - available extra from your telephone company). Press OK to save the setting. If you choose DRPD, you will need to teach the distinctive ring by calling the MX340 after setting the machine to listen to the ring. (See the manual.) To fax out, press Fax, put your item to fax face up in the ADF and then dial the fax number of your receipient.

Canon has the manuals for the Pixma MX340 available here: http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printers_multifunction/office_all_in_one_inkjet_printers/pixma_mx340?selectedName=BrochuresAndManuals#BrochuresAndManuals .

I hope this helps.

PRINTER UNABLE TO CLEAN

You can download the manual as a PDF here: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/doc/manual_top.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=mfc5440cn_all
Select language and search.

Usually the unable to clean message means that either the printer has a mechanical problem or some foreign object is inside the unit. Open the scanner cover and check for any foreign objects.

Then transfer any faxes in memory off the unit to a different fax machine or computer. Press Menu/Set 9, 0, 1 to check for faxes. If there are none, unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for several minutes. Then reconnect the power cord and see if the message repeats. (If you need to transfer faxes see section 11-4 (page 132) of the manual, see the above link. Unplugging the unit will lose the faxes in memory.)

I hope this helps. If the message repeats, the unit probably needs service.

Change fax number displayed on outgoing faxes

You need to go into your "Function" key- do you have the User's Manuel- if not you can go to canonusa.com- I am a USA Canon dealer so i can only refer you to the USA site, go here down load the User's Manuel- I haven't done it in a while but, i do believe you need to go into the Function mode the display "Set-Up" then change output preferences , I think your getting the " Sent " request- trust me get the User's Manuel and read it this should solve your issues you can download it right from the canon Website
