Let the draining out hose in a lower surface than the washing machine placed surface. Also check for any blockage in the draining hose.

SOURCE: does not drain

Do not open from behind! First drain as much water from the drum as possible. and unplug from the outlet. Then there are 2 screws left and right under the front lower panel at floor level. Undo those two screws. Pry the front panel DOWN from the door panel. Once the lower panel is removed you will see the pump and pump filter on your right. The pump filter is to the left. It has a large turnscrew. Be ready with a pan or something to catch the water from the open filter! Screw this counterclockwise until it comes loose. You will now be able to remove the filter and all the debris. After cleaning, re-screw the turnscrew. Before you put back the front panel test that it is clear by doing a wash. If it still doesnt drain you must remove debris from the pump itself. The pump is between the pump filter and the pump motor on the right. Undo the white clips from the motor and the retaing clips attiching the filter to the metal washer body. Then turn the motor clockwise to separate it from the filter.

BTW - on the back of the front panel are the SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS with a warning - Technicians only. The manufacturer keeps the instructions for doing this and many other simple fixes 'secret' so that their techs can make $!!!! There are no instructions whatsever in the consumer instructions about removing the front panel or cleaning out the filter.

SOURCE: maytag performa series washer

I purchased a Maytag Performa washer in 2003 and experienced the same thing. A service call found a loose electrical connection behind the switch panel. The washer has worked fine since.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: washer not spinning or draining

Same problem.  Water wouldn't drain, no trouble codes, door wouldn't unlock.  When the Rinse and Spin cycle or Drain cycle was selected all I got was a growling humm from the pump.  Clued in by the above postings I pulled the washer away from the wall, tipped it back so it leaned against the wall with the bottom fully exposed and removed the plastic panel covering the bottom (underneath - 4 screws) of the machine.  The small pump was just where these postings said it would be, top right of the bottom opening. Disconnect the two drain hoses from the pump. Mine were connected with hose clamps that I removed with just my thumb and fore-finger.  I had two quarters AND a nickel lodged inside the pump and was able to coax them out without removing the pump. Replaced the hoses and bottom panel, tipped upright and I was back in business - didn't even have to unplug (Its never a bad idea to do so) or disconnect the water hoses.

  • Total time spent: including searching for these posts and random dead-end trouble shooting - 1.5 hours.
  • Tools: 1 Phillips screwdriver.

SOURCE: does not drain the water

we had the same problem. First the repairman ordered and installed a new clutch. If the clutch is out, the spin cycle cannot do its job. But after the first load, it leaked. So for another $300 part he came today to replace a bearing and seal. Now the bearings under the tub need to be repaired at $500 for the part. We said no, no more money and now are going to have it picked up for $20!! You can start with the clutch and see if you can avoid the bearing issue we had. Sorry!!

Won't finish the wash cycle

Initially we 1)used less detergent and make sure its marked 'he' . extra soap suds initiates error codes. 2) ran white vinegar with no detergent to clear suds 3) opened, checked and cleared trap.
Everything worked for a time but codes would return or like you would not finish wash cycle until water line in back of machine was made rigid so there was no chance of water or sud backup. So far so good. Good luck.

Machine won't spin

When washing does the unit rotate in both directions ? If NO, the problem (likely) is the motor/brushes. If YES, insure you're not overloading or using non-HE detergent or more commonly refered to as "regular" detergent/soap. (soap is a very bad thing for these front load units).

Water appears in drum after wash cycle is finished.

if you remove the front cover there is a drain plug that holds change and lint paperclips etc, it fills up and gets plugged and wont go throught the drainig pump. if you find this and clean it out you will be good for another 6 months...its important to check pockets before washing

Water left after finishing wash

I have a Bosch Dishwasher and the E-Nr is SGS4362EU/03. The machine is approximately 4 years old, in good condition and has been working very well. Suddenly, there is water remaining after it completes a 50 degrees C wash cycle. This is also evident with the pre wash cycle and the 65 degrees wash cycle.

I have checked and cleaned the filters. I have loosened the internal pump white cover (Torx T 20 screw) and checked for any physical blockage - none. I have also checked for any drainage hose kinks - none.

I have tried a series of empty washes and the machine drains the water during the wash cycles. The dishes are also have a dull colour and show show signs of not being properly rinsed during the wash cycle.

Please assist.

Reagrds,

Brian
