Thinking is not a fact. pull plug wire off, pull starter rope. do you have pulses of resistance? Yes, =compression good enough. No, = expensive repairs(new head and/or piston)

could be a valve problem or a ring problem try a teaspoon of oil in the cylinder and check compression again if no change sounds like a valve problem

1989 FORD FESTIVA OVER-HEATED, STOPPED RUNNING, NOW WONT START


When a vehicle doesnt start,anything tyhat looks out of place we think that anything out of place if the problem. You are a 1.3 If you overheated you may have blown the head gasket,you dont necessary have to have oil and water mixed, you can be loosing compression going into the radiator.Yes the timing could of slipped,but that rare. When you are cranking it and it sounds like it wants to start it loosing compression somewhere.And it wont start.The heads blown

Got spark starting fluid wont turn it over


Check to make sure you have compression in the cylinder, place you thumb over the empty spark plug hole and pull the cord, if it blows hard against your thumb then it has good compression, if it has spark and compression it will start unless it is not getting fuel. Be careful when using starting fluid as to much of it can damage the engine. If there is no pressure against your thumb then there is a copression problem where the piston rings maybe bad or something is stuck open in the intake or exhaust.

Why does it not want to start sometimes ive fixed almost every possible problem?


You need three things to start an engine. A combustible fuel, air, a means of igniting the compressed fuel and compression. Which one are we missing? We have air and copression, right? Do we have spark? Are we getting fuel? The coolant temp sensorsets up the fuel for cold starts and backs off as the intake air temp and coolant temp rises. have you chk'd and cleaned the Maf sensor? Use CRC electrical cleaner to wash it clean. It's in a metal section iof the intake ducting. do not rub or brush it and no compressed air. See what does for you Get the cleaner at the oparts store.. One more thing . Use the spray to wash off the crank position sensor. Remove the connector and wash it dow with the spray. Make sure the sensor is secure and reconnect it. Now. Good luck my friend. If this doesn't work, I expect it to work, We have a couple of options left..

you probally need to retime it find top dead center on copression stroke and aline your cam then put your chain on that shoul do it did you take the cam chain off or loosen your tensener? if so you need to re time it

Sounds to me like your timing belt jumped on bank 1.
