SOURCE: AV input selection without a remote

I had the same problem. I hooked up the DVD player and then got into the set up. I used the add/erase feature to go through all of the channels. At channel 91, I saw the logo for the dvd player. I added that channel and now the dvd player works.

I personally have had the same problem with Universal remotes. The best solution is to buy the correct remote. I would first call the manufacturer to see what they would charge you for a new one. Then ask if they sell refurbished ones. Also check online for an OEM remote. You could probably get one for less than the universal remote.

You need the original remote controller to be able to switch input modes.Universal ones usually don't work. If you don't have the original remote and can't find it ever or if it is too expensive you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your dvd player, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me. It placed the connection to channel 4 and other cable channels are still working,

You can buy the RF Modulator from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180299245670

Manual Controls Not Sufficient

If you have a "Menu" button on the front panel of your set, then you may be able to change settings from the menu this way. If not then you will have to have the original remote to change settings. Stargazer
