Question about Samsung Prostar DCS Phone
I have a Starmail VM box which has become confused about the date and day of week. Battery has been replaced, following a long power outage, but I am unable to set the date/day of the week. The manual says the system date is set at the factory ! It only lists function 320 to set the time. Anyone have a clue on how to get this puppy fixed ?
The PBX is a DCS compact and it has the correct date settings, which obviously are not exchanged between the two.
Sorry I've been out of town and I'm just catching up. I looked at the info I sent to you and eventhough it is under the heading of Compact I think it is for a Prostar. The info is under the DCS heading and is called " DCS Technical Manual August 1995" Pages 186, 187, 197 and 200. I have not given up and I'm looking through my other reference materials but you are right, there are a lot of user and programming guides but no installation guides. First thing you should verify a dial tone on the fax machine. (use any analog phone)
If you have dial tone, press 9 and then a number
Second is it conected through tel. system? (did it have an internal extension) and there is no dial tone then your analog port may be fried. Call your telephone vendor. He should be able to help you.
You can purchase a manual for about 10 dollars

Please follow the steps :-
1) Press transfer.
2) Dial 800.
3) Enter passcode = (try 4321 or 1234)
4) Press 1.
5) Press the speaker button.
6) Dial 505.
7) The display will show.
w=day of the week (1=Mon. - 7=Sun.)
mm=2 digit month
dd= 2 digit day
yy=2 digit year
time must be entered in military time when done press Transfer.

You have probably inadvertently cancelled no answer call forward at the extension in question. You will need to know the port numbers for your voicemail but if you watch this video it will show you how to reset the call forward. There are plenty more handy tips for Samsung telephone systems at
