Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
My GE Space Maker microwave stopped working today. I changed the fuse reset the clock and thought it was fixed but when I try to cook it starts and then blows the fuse again. This is the internal fuse 20amp 250volts.It is an overhead model with exhaust fan and does make a kind of wierd noise when it starts almost like a bad or jammed motor. It does not have a carousel. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
If it blows the fuse as soon as you hit START, you probably have a high voltage capacitor shorting. If it blows a fews secondfs after you press START it probably has a bad high voltage transformer.
