Hello,

The Samsung 214T has a known issue with the backlight power supply going out. The dark screen with green power light or power light blinking are the classic symptoms of this issue. Check out our web site at: www.ccl-la.com. We have a step by step repair guide with pictures posted that will guide to doing the repair yourself. It involves changing a few capacitors on the power supply. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service for $30 plus return shipping. If you have any additional questions just let us know at: tech@ccl-la.com

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Seems to be a problem with power supply or the Invertor board. You need to open it to be able to fix it.

Hi, my samsung syncmaster 214T starts up and flickers hard permanently. I can do everything, change resolution, refresh rate and the monitor responds but it does not stop flickering. Is it a power supply...

Hello,

Flashing or flickering is a common indication of failing capacitors in the power supply board. The fix is very simple and just requires replacing 5 capacitors on the board. They will need to be soldered. Here is a link to a repair guide for the Samsung 214T units. http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/samsung-214t-repair/

Monitor keep flashing analog and digital when i turn it on

Hi Ichandler422,
This usually happens when the monitor does not recognise that it has been plugged in. Please check that there is either a blue analogue or white digital cable connect to the monitor and the computer.
Thanks. Edge.

I have a flatron w2253tq and have "analoge power saving "on. I cannot see the desktop

Is the monitor connected to the computer using a VGA plug (a smaller one, with 15 pins in 3 rows), or a DVI plug (wider one, with flat pins in 2 rows)?

From what you write, your monitor is switched to the analog input (VGA). It doesn't sense any signal on that input and hence goes to power down mode.

You need to go to your monitor's on-screen menu and select the digital input - you should see the picture then.

Samsung 214t syncmaster flickering

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should workfine. We just posted a repair guide showing how to remove the case ansreplace the parts. The capacitors do need to be installed with thecorrect + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one thesame way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Its the capacitors on the backlight power supply. Samsung installed crappy ones and they blow up after a year or two. Change out the caps and you're good to go

DO YOU MEAN WONT SWITCH FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL!!!

THE ONLY WAY THIS WILL CHANGE IS IF YOU HAVE A DIGITAL INPUT SOURCE CONNECTED to this mointor like HDMI AS THIS MOINTOR AUTOMATICALLY SENSES ANALOG SIGNALS AND DIGITAL INPUT SIGNALS if a digital signal is available it will switch over if a digital input singal is not available you will only be able to use the analog option
