We have a Intertherm MAC 1378 gas furnace in out mobile home and it has shut off on us. There is still gas coming in, we checked the meter outside to be sure. But when we try to reignite the pilot light it wont ingnite. We can't smell any gas when we try. We've followed the instructions on the furnace on how to reignite it and it still wont work. It's well below frezing with a **** load of snow we have 2 kids, one of which is a newborn and its getting really cold. So anything you can tell us will be great help.

Hello, and thanks for using FIXYA!

I will try to give you a hand in getting heat forthe night, and posibly making a permanent re4pair, depending on the problem and your willingness to tackle it. LOL

First. look for any flashing LED lights, if there is one, count the flashes.

Then, turn off power to the unit, wait 5 min, and turn power back on, making sure the T-stat is calling for heat.

You will need to be right in front of the furnace when it has power restored so you can look closely, and make note of exactly what does, and does not happen in what sequence.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

Check to make sure the roof vent is not covered over with snow.
Very deep snow can block the intake to the furnace. You may need a ladder and a broom (or shovel) to clear the snow.
Hope this helps.

Intertherm gas furnace in mobile home..igniter comes on then nothing tries to fire byrners but nothing

by igniter I assume you mean the thermocoupler. are you turning the control button to run after you light the pilot light? Normally when those furnaces quit it is the thermocoupler that has quit. Get a new one and leave it in the furnace compartment as a spare.

This could be failure of the igniter and/or thermocouple.

Intertherm furnace burner comes on, but blower does not. If I turn thermostat off then back on until it clicks the fan will then come on. It does not do this all of the time, just now and then.

Furnace burner and heat element are not the same. I think the fan time delay, a sensor that turns the fan on when this sensor senses heat, is shot and needs replacing, for a furnace type heat ( gas heat)

When I turn on my furance or ac the blower is always on even though the fan is set to auto. When it is on heat it never gives off any hot air, so it never warms up the house. I had someone look at it and...

If this is a mobile home furnace they usually have a two stage gas valve. Generally they just have a delay in opening fully and are convertable from L.P to natural gas or vice versa. It is a possibilty that the gas valve is bad. If so it will have to be replaced. First I would have someone check your thermostat to see if that is what is causeing the blower to run . does the burner ever light? I wouldsuggest that you hire a service tech. who is knowledgable on intertherm furnaces. I don't recommend anyone who is not trained to change gas valves, because of safty concerns. I hope this helps you some. Thanks

I have a mobile home furnace Intertherm #1378. The pilot light is on, but the burner will not light. The thermostat clicks on and everything seems to be running properly, but there is no flame. Last year...

First make sure that the gas valve is in the on position. There is a spring load diaphragm that will stick when not in use over time, When the t-stat clicks on for heat tap the valve with a hammer LIGHTLY. If it doesn't come on replace the valve.
