SOURCE: not powering on
I solved this problem on my HTS3410D.
Inside there are two circuit boards, the power supply board and the audio/video board.
The
capacitor that died on mine was 1,000uF, 16V, 105°C. It was located
fairly close to where the power cord comes in to the board. I replaced
it with a 1,000uF 50V capacitor, and the system powered right up like a
champ. The entire process took me about an hour.
I hope this helps some other people have similar results.

Not sure which trick worked, but i did ur classic 7,3,4,4,6,6,0 trick, got no message from the player. So i did pressed 0000 after that. Still no message appeared. But when i pressed start....it worked!!!!!!

i had the same ploblem sometime last year and all i did was to put a cleaning disk(the ones with a cleaning brush on) in it a couple of times...and it works fine since then!
b Source buttons
- DISC/USB: toggles between DISC or
USB mode.
RADIO: toggles between FM and AM/
MW band.
TV: switches to TV mode. The sound
from the TV will output through the
connected speaker system.
AUX/DI: switches to the external device
that is connected to the AUDIO IN-AUX
socket.
MP3 LINE-IN: switches to audio device
that is connected to the MP3 LINE-IN
socket.
Connecting an Amplifier / DVD Home Theater

Amplifier/DVD Home Theater
1 Connect Audio Cables between the
AUDIO OUT [R-AUDIO-L] jacks on
the TV and Audio Input jacks on the
Amplifier / DVD Home Theater.
When an audio amplifier is connected
to the AUDIO OUT [R-AUDIO-L]
jacks: Decrease the volume of the TV
and adjust the volume level with the
Amplifier's volume control.
Each Amplifier/DVD Home Theater has
a different back panel configuration.
When connecting an Amplifier/DVD
Home Theater, match the color of the
connection terminal to the cable.
