Not all fans have the same level of noise. Even if the fans look the same, the bearings, the default RPM, and the shape of the blades (just to name a few) can all affect the sound level of a fan.

I highly recommend fans from a company called Nexus if you are looking for quiet fans.

Noisy fans on a desk-top pc Model Acer Veriton 1000. Besides replacement for new fans, can brushless fans be serviced or lubricated?

The Veriton 1000 I have has 50mm fans (length and width). 80mm are the wrong size. They are 15mm thick, 12V, 0.2A. For some reason, these seem to be more expensive than many other fans.

Similar problem to above :89 caprice classic won't start, but the battery is brand new (2 days old) I get a battery light in the dash. I replaced the side screw battery attachment posts with new ones when...

Do you have a multi meter.
You should have three post on your starter.
Two large and one small.
The small one is the energizer wire. That one appears to be working if your getting a click sound At the starter solenoid.
Then you will have a larger cable coming from the battery to one of the large post.
That post should have 12v at it.
The other large post will have the braided wire that goes into the starter motor.
That post will have 12v at it when you turn the key and energize the solenoid.
If you get 12v there and the starter don't work replace the starter.
The click sound you hear is the solenoid being energized and closing the circuit so it is working. most likely starter is bad.
Hope this helps Give feedback and good luck. FixYa

My Panasonic is Model# SA-ht650. The fan does not come on to cool the unit down. I took the fan out and tested it and it does work with 12 Volts DC @ 1.5 amps. Any suggestions.

For others, the fan on this model only runs with the volume turned way up, to test it unhook the speakers and play something like the radio with the volume set to 0dB, the fan should run.

I purchased a Coleman model 564 cooler about june 1,2008 at Wal-mart. I used it for two trips to Canada,June and August, one week each. The fan operates spasmodically and the unit does not cool. I believe...

I had the same problem with the fan...its junk.. don't try to replace it with the same kind of fan. I went to radio shack and got a 3.15"square brushless fan. You could go to a computer store and get the 3 &5/8" fan with ball bearings and it would fit just like the old one. Fans run about $15 to $20 depending on location. I cut the old one out and sodered the new one in and it works fine now. Hope this helps. Larry Crockett at crockett2242@yahoo.com Let me know how it works.

I want to buy a new CPU fan for my notebook

Fans are fairly easy to find and replace. Open the notebook and see what size it is (OD and thickness) in mm. Most run on 12v, but some are 5v. There should be some lable or marking on the fan. Then go to www.mouser.com, and select a fan that matches the dimensions and volts. Mouser has a large selection. Sometimes the connector for the fan is tiny, but it is a quick job to splice the new wires in place.
