Question about Creative Labs Zen Digital Media Player

My screen just went blank, now player does not work

I put some photos and mp3 files into a SD memory card. There were also a couple of .mvi files from my cannon camera. When I tried to play the mvi file the screen went blank and now I cannot turn off the player, none of the buttons work. When I connect the unit to the computer, computer says that it is not connected. Help!!!

I just solved my problem. After reading some of the other problems that
had been solved concerning cessation of functions of the mp3
players, I decided to try and reset my unit---it worked. Problem
solved. I think I will delete the .mvi files which the player obviously
    cannot read.

I hooked up my brand new MP3 to my computer. While I was in the room, the MP3 screen kept flashing 'Connect', 'Disconnect', 'Writing'. I decided to ignore it. Half an hour later, the only thing on my Mp3's screen is a blank white space, and it won't turn off or on, the buttons don't work...nothing's happening!

I have the same problems sometimes. what you can do is to take a straight pin and at the bottom of your zen is a tiny hole. stick the pin in the hole to rest it. It should come back on. Upon coming back on it should say it is rebuliding info.

File Doesnt exist, means the music is not MP3 that your putting on, make sure its MP3 format. In regards to SD card support, the unit doesnt combine the internal and external memory. You would have to access the SD memory from the Explorer icon on the main menu.

Does it just expand by putting the sd card into it or do you have to do something to make it work.

You can put audio files into the "MUSIC" folder on the microSD card and play them as you would any other audio file. You cannot put photos and videos on the card; they have to go on the Sansa's internal memory.

MVI video to AVI video for SMPK8858 not working

Use a converter to convert your files to FLV. Like i said in an earlier post. this is the only way to get them to play opn this player. The instructions and disc that came with it are useless! LOL

Can't open SD camera card--error message.

1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download a recovery software, recommended one is this photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
SD Card Photo Recovery
4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.

You may refer to this tutorial
Recover files from SD Card

hope this helps.

Downloading

It is easier to get a SD memory card for it. Drag and drop the music onto the window which represents the SD memory card and then just put the SD memory card into the GPX MP3 player. I have the same MP3 player and it works nice... it was a good deal for the money! Take the savings and invest in a cheap SD memory card and you will be happy.... I was!
:-) Good Luck!

press and hold the menu/power button until the player shuts off then wait for 10 seconds then turn the player on. This is usually cause by bad files in the device.

Getting 4GB Micro SD to work

The card will not add to the MP3's memory, it shows up as a removable disk on Windows Media Player version 11.

Otherwise, you can manually drag & drop files thru My Computer>Removable Disk (*).

FYI, the memory card will only support un-protected MP3 files, not Rhapsody or other subscription content. Also, you will need to free up some space on the player to allow some free space for the database to accommodate for the additional music.

Best of Luck.
