Question about Olivetti Lettera 25 Typewriter
Ribbon spool does not advance when keys are struck. I have ensured that
there is not a snag anywhere in the spools visible from the top. When
the bottom panel is removed there is a long rod that runs horizontally
across the typewriter, when this is manually moved it does connect to
the spool and initiates rotation. When the keys are struck this long
thin rod rotates slightly (although inconsistently) but not successively. So I reason that there is
something wrong with advancement of this rod. Any ideas or schematics
that would enable me to fix this problem are appreciated.
Everything else on this machine work perfectly and it is in mint condition.
These are tricky to repair, I would suggest taking it to a repair shop (check the yellow pages) check repair directory on this site, sorry , no easy answer on this one
